"In what war is he a criminal? In the battle for our affections?"

Just what no one ordered, a          centric episode.

Oh joy.

When I started reviewing this season I vowed not to mention you know who. No, not Lord Voldemort. I am more than happy to talk about the dark lord and how he will eventually return and will rid the magical world of all the mudbloods and kill Harry Potter once and for- ahem, sorry, went a little off topic there. Where was I? Oh yes,         .

Episodes like this, where          is used substantially, make if very difficult for me to stick to my vow. Heck, by even talking about not talking about          I am technically breaking my own rule. So what is a reviewer to do? Well, in this case I will simply have most of this review redacted, government-style. That way I can maintain my sacred vow and still talk about                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            .

                                                                                                                                      .                                                                  .                                                                                                                                                                                              .                                                                                                                                                          ..                                                    .

Normally I love it when Jeff and Shirley get a storyline together. They are one of my favourite pairings and the show doesn't put them together enough. But their storyline was dominated by                                             for me to find any enjoyment in it. Just when there was hope that we would be rid of                                                         it was cruelly snatched away. Damn you, Andre, why did you have to go an Huxtable everything? Jeff and Shirley came up with a foolproof way of getting rid of It for 20 to life and you foolishly talked them out of it. Urgh, and I was just starting to like you.

This episode's b-plot saw Britta dating Luka, Tory and Abed's new game buddy. Those two really should’ve know better than to tell Britta what not to do. Even Jeff saw the stupidity of it. Anyone with even a vague understanding of human nature will tell you that the second you tell someone not to do something they will be instantly overwhelmed by an uncontrollable desire to do that exact thing, no matter how dangerous or harmful it may be. You tell Britta not to date the guy from Dollhouse and she will date the guy from Dollhouse. And it is a good thing she did too because Luka is a very, very bad man. We're talking a war criminal who gleefully talks about all the villagers he butchered back in the Balkans. Did anyone else find it uncomfortable that a conflict like that was being used for comedy? And bad comedy at that.

  1. Haha love it (the review, that is, not IT). I had totally forgotten about the tag. Hilarious. I like that Pierce was on a calculator.

  2. Okay, for the record? I don't mind Chang. All this Chang hate is... unnerving to me. :(

  3. Oddly, I have absolutely no memory of watching this episode my first time through the show. Either I skipped it for some reason or I repressed it. Either way, it's not one I will hurry back to watch again.

    Hilarious review, Mark.
