This Week in Cats: October 9, 2016

Welcome to a new feature here at Doux Reviews: a weekly (more or less) post about all things cat-related. The nature of what “related” means in this context will be determined by Sam T. Cat and his plucky sidekick, Josie Kafka. The nature of what “cat” means is unknowable to human brains; all we can do is read, hope for enlightenment, and provide more boxes for them to play with.

How much do you love your cat? Would you be willing to risk life, limb, and liberty to save your adorable kitty?

Key and Peele would. The comedy team behind the eponymous Comedy Central skit show recently made what amounts to a feature-length cat video. Rell (Jordan Peele) is a complete sad sack whose life gains new meaning when an adorable kitty named Keanu shows up on his doorstep. But when Keanu goes missing after a mistaken-identity drug-related burglary, Rell enlists his cousin Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) to help him track down the love of his life through the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles.

The result is a hilarious and violent movie about men who love kittens and the gangstas (who also love kittens) they must battle. Although the film drags a bit in the middle, it’s worth it to see the real start of the show—the kitten—prance through shoot-out scenes and generally look adorable.

Sam T. Cat ranks this film four out of four paws.

Josie Kafka is a full-time cat servant and part-time rogue demon hunter. (What's a rogue demon?)

  1. And I meant to add, the trailer alone made me laugh like a loon.

  2. Laugh like a loon is the perfect description. I'm surprised I didn't wake people.
    Thanks for the link.
