That's a high honor that I take very seriously.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13953652907115935895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-37505567413640679022014-07-18T19:31:47.148-04:002014-07-18T19:31:47.148-04:00Heather, I love your reviews, because you're s...Heather, I love your reviews, because you're so empathetic to the characters in a show. Ironic, that the episode is called "Parallax", and that (as you define it, for us) you actually DO position yourself in different spots to see & feel what different characters do in a scene.

For instance, when you describe Barton's suicide/family saving scene, instead of just the obligatory P.C. moral outrage at society's bigotry to gays, you go way farther and empathize with the whole family... especially when you wrote "A family both held together and kept apart by Barton's genetic human sexual response."

Wow! Heather, you make me want to watch this show again.
And the line about "Masters of Sex makes me want to sing Sade songs" is dead-on right!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-41495827066225612542014-07-17T21:50:18.766-04:002014-07-17T21:50:18.766-04:00What a great start to the second series. As anyone who can access the internet knows how this couple ended up, I'm so glad the producers and writers did not drag out the will they/won't they story. Instead, this whatever you want to call it that they are doing will be so much more interesting to watch.

The scene between Bill and Essie just gutted me. This man is incredibly damaged, and watching him go after his mother like that is so hard. But, watching her realize that she is not only about to lose her son, but her grandson as well, was devastating.

Great review, Heather. I'm so glad you decided to take on this show. I love it.ChrisBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10843864158239536750noreply@blogger.com
