The camera angles of Mulder and Scully and Pam and Bernard are bananas at times! Unusual and so compelling, parallel and dissonant at very interesting moments. Gilligan's steel trap mind for continuity adds so much to the effectiveness of an episode about continuity!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13953652907115935895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-60365286309815066292016-01-10T22:14:39.950-05:002016-01-10T22:14:39.950-05:00What a great episode. She tried so hard to save everyone and to make things go better than they did. Carrie Hamilton, daughter of Carol Burnett, was great as Pam and watching this from the future, knowing that she died in real life from cancer, just 3 years after this was filmed, makes it more sad.Mallenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368492098724611717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-76075119377635053952016-01-09T12:20:37.018-05:002016-01-09T12:20:37.018-05:00I love the idea that the time warp is linked to Sc...I love the idea that the time warp is linked to Scully's inability to die - any kind of theory about what's happening is the one thing missing from this episode!

I love this episode, it has to be one of the best the show has ever done. It's so sad and Pam is so relatable even in her extreme situation. I think it's really interesting that things change slightly each time round even if Pam does nothing differently as well. Normally, in a time loop episode, anything not directly affected by the person who remembers the loops stays exactly the same down to the millisecond. The idea that if the same day repeated itself over and over it would do it slightly differently, albeit with the same outcomes, is really interesting.

None of Dreamland ever happened, so neither Mulder nor Scully remember it, though Mulder may have some sense of something - the waterbed was left behind because it wasn't in the direct line of the time-whatsit (or something). I love Mulder's confused explanation that he thinks it was a gift and doesn't know what to say - everyone thinks he's just being Mulder, but he genuinely doesn't know how he ended up with it!Juliettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00203399623895589924noreply@blogger.com
