The idea that the big bang is not just a mistake but that it was created by sapient beings in the first place could have been extremely interesting, but instead we got this snooze-fest. He perished in the process. The Doctor is standing next to the mummified corpse of the being who created the Universe. So basically the show is saying God is dead and the Universe is a mistake.<br />Never mind.
