That last episode where things got so incredibly bleak turned out to be so life-affirming and we finally saw the connection between Tagomi, Kido, John Smith, Joe Blake, Dixon and Juliana. Thanks so much for your excellent review.Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-90699256434511592232017-01-19T13:23:36.897-05:002017-01-19T13:23:36.897-05:00Thanks Sancho, I appreciate your comment. It is a really clever angle to present this show that way. Evil is not always evident, it can hide behind a lovely facade.Mallenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368492098724611717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-5912905359107682232017-01-19T08:34:02.727-05:002017-01-19T08:34:02.727-05:00Thanks for the review Mallena! I especially loved the attention to detail the shows gives the alternate historical period - 1960s Nazi Berlin was fascinating to see!

Obergruppenfuhrer John Smith and Juliana are definitely my favourite characters. Seeing their stories develop this season was a highlight for me. I found the Pacific States resistance story a little boring and repetitive... I just didn't enjoy watching it at all.

Can't wait for season 3 :)

SanchoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-62645847645835146232016-12-30T12:45:50.612-05:002016-12-30T12:45:50.612-05:00Josie, I learned a few things while writing this r...Josie, I learned a few things while writing this review. First, season reviews are hard. It's not easy to make 20 pages of notes into something coherent. Secondly, it's also hard to find ways to praise a show about Nazis, without seeming to praise Nazis. For the record: boo those meanies, yay freedom. This second season is a lot less dour than the first and keeps the story moving at a brisker pace than the first season. Keep watching, it's worth it.Mallenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368492098724611717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-2317318416799913592016-12-26T19:24:50.228-05:002016-12-26T19:24:50.228-05:00I'm really excited to read this review, Mallen...I'm really excited to read this review, Mallena! I just skimmed it, because I've only watched one episode so far. It's a rather dour show and I feel like I have to be in a particular mood to watch it.Josie Kafkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17892717530356699008noreply@blogger.com
