Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) is my favorite television show, ever. Although it started slowly and the first season and a half weren't stellar, the series matured into something brilliant as well as unique. The ultimate in mixed genres, Buffy successfully combined horror, comedy, satire, romance, and melodrama. And it has, in my opinion, the wittiest dialogue ever, period. Buffy is the reason I became obsessed with reviewing television shows. Without Buffy, this site might not be here at all.

Stephen King

I really, really want to review every book Stephen King has ever written. Well, that’s not quite true: I want Doux Reviews to have a Stephen King review extravaganza. To be the first place you look after you’ve read one of his books. To stop by to see which one you should read next. Is this even possible? I don’t know. Reviewing books is fun, but it’s also hard work, especially when the books are as connected as King’s are. But I’m going to try, and I’m going to keep trying.

The below list is not comprehensive, but it does include all of his major works. For a sortable list of all of King’s works, check out his website. The list isn’t necessarily the order in which I will review them, either. It’s more of a thematic thing, with some chronology thrown in. Like I said, this is hard.

Dark Tower:

DT: Gunslinger
DT: Drawing of the Three
DT: The Wasteland
DT: Wizard and Glass
DT: The Wind Through the Keyhole

Comment Poetry

The Agents of D.O.U.X. not only read every comment posted on the site, we track the "Recent Comments" right-hand sidebar, which only gives the first 1-3 words of the comment to avoid spoilage. When we’re lucky, the result is “comment poetry”: short free-form verses that sometimes make a strange sort of e.e. cummings sense.

John Varley

As an adolescent, I loved Edgar Rice Burroughs; as a teen, I was obsessed with Robert A. Heinlein. I've gone through other faves since, but currently, my favorite science fiction author is John Varley. And I'm happy to report that he is still writing.

Billie's Favorite Movies

Charlaine Harris

Charlaine Harris is an American mystery and fantasy author who is probably best known for writing the Sookie Stackhouse series of novels on which the television series True Blood is based. I've reviewed all of True Blood, and during 2011 and 2012 I reviewed all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels in anticipation of the release of the twelfth book in May 2012. For a complete list of Harris's works as well as the latest news about what will be published next, check out her web site.

This list includes all of the Sookie Stackhouse series novels, but not all of the Sookieverse short stories, of which there are many. I did review A Touch of Dead, which contains five Sookieverse stories, and my brief review lists when the stories took place.
