I liked how it started right when season one ended and how they were reeling from Drew Marshall or Rene and even Sookie from Gran´s death.
The whole Jessica/Bill is funny but Jason is still a douchebag.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-81147018129358033742010-09-24T19:10:06.381-04:002010-09-24T19:10:06.381-04:00But how often do we get square dancing comments? Since I'm from the south I can solve the mystery of the matching costumes....Square Dancers - Worked at a restaurant in college and a group came in late every Thursday night to have coffee in costumes just like that. :-)Daniellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16132599035863513234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-57787185563292018812009-06-22T20:17:04.368-04:002009-06-22T20:17:04.368-04:00Hi, Harry:

Yes, I noticed that the set-up for Maryann was the same as the character of Callisto in the second book, but what they've done with her so far doesn't seem to match what Callisto was. So I'm trying not to assume anything.

And I totally agree that Michelle Forbes rocks.Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-7822112861419699502009-06-22T19:22:07.812-04:002009-06-22T19:22:07.812-04:00Great review Billie :-) Wasn't it an awesome s...Great review Billie :-) Wasn't it an awesome start to the series? But maybe because I was watching it with a newcomer to True Blood, I Really noticed how dense the episode was. Almost all the guest starring characters from season one had scenes, almost no one was properly introduced, and past events were pretty unexplained. Same goes for the mythology of the True Blood 'verse.

One bit of speculation about Maryann - she seems to feed off sexual energy - getting all vibratey with Puppy Sam (aww!) and getting angry that Tara and Eggs' first kiss was interrupted.

Another thing about Maryann - if you've read the books, don't you already have a very strong idea of what she is? Or was your speculation about the meaning of her mural purely for your unspoiled readers?

Personally I am not too concerned about the character's true nature, I'm just really looking forward to seeing some more crazy, angry, sexy Michelle Forbes on my screen - she knocked my socks off in BSG.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13280351222656849538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-53117578829665979502009-06-20T15:23:34.028-04:002009-06-20T15:23:34.028-04:00Ah, finally something new to watch! And very happy you're reviewing it :)

Maryann might be after some of the jewelry Sam stole?

Oh - and the color-matched outfits - they said they'd won something, and carried a trophy - my first thoughts were a dancing competition or something like that :)cittenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004923761827288294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-85475006557305173362009-06-16T10:18:38.048-04:002009-06-16T10:18:38.048-04:00Duh. Great review. Great start to an eve...Great episode. Great review. Great start to an even better season.

One thing though: About the cross that the Vamp-Burner threw at Eric...it's not the cross that hurt him, it's the silver. Remember back in season one when Jason and his Vamp-Roid girlfriend threw that silver sheet on Eddie? It's the silver that burns them...a la Supernatural.

:) Just a thought.Jon Adamsnoreply@blogger.com
