It's similar to something Tom Baker would do, but he usually got shouted out, shot, or smacked. But, I also see why Tennant is so beloved by new Who fans early on in his tenure. I really liked him till near the end of his time, and he was quite fun here.

Fun stuff overall, and I too am not a big fan of the Xmas stuff.Morellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08852528242739450099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-82137636027187779652009-06-07T10:33:55.454-04:002009-06-07T10:33:55.454-04:00Like a lot of people, I loved this episode. Both this and The Next Doctor have been the strongest of Christmas themed episodes the series has done.

It was sort of risky having David Tennant largely unconscious for the majority of the episode but he was brilliant when he got to shine.

The crazy stuff with the Christmas trees, pilot fish and the Sycorax all added to the spectacle.

It was this episode that I started writing reviews for the series. I bought Season 1 on DVD four days after it aired and I haven't looked back since.shawnlunn2002https://www.blogger.com/profile/14242367250345323622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-62865610801197150022009-06-07T06:03:55.745-04:002009-06-07T06:03:55.745-04:00Oh, I see what you're saying. I wonder why the postman dodged it though if he couldn't see or hear it? I know the perception filter's supposed to make the TARDIS seem ordinary, but a phone box flying through the sky seems like a tough one to normalise.

Thanks for your thoughts though. You're probably quite right :-)

PKPaul Kellynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-74790995668436353842009-06-07T05:53:22.889-04:002009-06-07T05:53:22.889-04:00Hi Daniel,

It has a "perception filter", which supposedly stops people from seeing it as
anachronistic.

PKPaul Kellynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-13262867993147542242009-06-07T00:06:55.089-04:002009-06-07T00:06:55.089-04:00Isn't it one of the Tardis' features, that...Isn't it one of the Tardis' features, that nobody cares for it, except those that know about it?daniel c wnoreply@blogger.com
