And JRS, I loved that last conversational bit you included... you sat by my bed, you taught me to shave... sounds a lot like a dad to me.

Notice how Joe Wells wears a lot of green - is that a hat tip to his Law & Order character, Ed Green?Victoria Grossackhttp://www.tapestryofbronze.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-36229419303618178272015-11-12T00:02:06.924-05:002015-11-12T00:02:06.924-05:00All the talk of Barry needing to eat a lot made me...All the talk of Barry needing to eat a lot made me smile because The Flash constantly needing food for his extraordinarily high metabolism was a running joke in The Justice League. Not in the type of humor, but in his ability to really make any scene he's in sparkle. You know? Some actors just really have it. At this point, I'm watching it solely to have Detective Ed Green back on my screen. I've missed him. :)sunbunnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08553429350476841139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-52443233291513026242014-10-17T20:58:10.633-04:002014-10-17T20:58:10.633-04:00I loved the non-intro acknowledgement to fans that...I loved the non-intro acknowledgement to fans that we already know the premise of the story :) I also loved the flashbacks (oops...) to well-known Vancouver buildings that were featured in Fringe (building on fire was in a couple eps) and Smallville's Daily Planet building. After seeing the "Daily Planet" building and Barry briefly stumbling with dizziness, my first thought was Kryptonite, haha.

I've gotta say, as much as I am already loving this show and the various interactions and character building, Wells is the most intriguing character so far. "The fastest man alive must be kept... safe." So creepy. I can't wait to find out more! I think Joseph Santini is right that "Future Man is protecting the Flash so he can be the one to kill the flash", though that may be too obvious at this point.

Anyways, great review and promising show.Tishereynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-66101917591075358832014-10-16T12:49:48.207-04:002014-10-16T12:49:48.207-04:00I am definitely enjoying this show, and I really l...I am definitely enjoying this show, and I really like Barry and most of his supporting characters. I liked his interactions with Joe and the fact that he basically told him that he was his dad at the end.

Except team Flash doesn't feel right to me. Wells is pretty shady, Caitlin is awfully uptight. Cisco seems genuine, but a bit too self absorbed. None of them are providing true support for Barry. They aren't sidekicks, they are glorified tech support. That isn't to say they aren't going to be important in the long run. But they aren't team Arrow.

That isn't ding on the show though. Clearly things are not going to be happy and shiny with this group. Or at least that's my impression. Maybe I'm reading into things too much.

Anyway, good review and I'd love to hear more about Black as Multiplex.
Samantha M. Barry's complicated relationship with his foster father works really well and is quite touching. Wells is a shocker -- what is he doing? A man from the future killing people to protect the Flash -- why? The food thing was interesting, too. I hope poor Grant G. doesn't have to do constant eating scenes. Maybe they can keep working around that with a lot of empty donut boxes, like they did here. Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.com
