Erg. I guess they...The interwebs ate my comments. Erg. I guess they didn't want me defending FOX. :)

Trying again ... Fringe has truly terrible ratings (the worst for a scripted show on FOX by a wide margin), and yet we got a fourth season and so far the show hasn't been completely pulled from the schedule. So, I'd argue the network has been generally supportive and that the baseball schedule kerfuffle is just one of those things that happens to FOX shows in the fall.

As for the fandom, I'm on the "let's wait and see how it all plays out before passing overall judgment" bandwagon, but I can certainly understand the fans who have become disenchanted because they feel like the writers completely cut them off at the knees by "erasing" the characters we've spent the last three years investing in (except Peter). While we don't know for sure that those characters are gone for good, we've been getting a lot of "let go of the past" and "by seeking out your loved ones you are killing yourself" messages thrown at us these last couple weeks. And the fact that Peter has so easily and happily accepted the notion that this is not his world or his people, and he just needs to open a door to get back home again, makes me think that theory could very well be wrong. If you just want to spend what could very well be the show's last season with *our* Olivias, Walters, and Fringe Divisions, I definitely get the frustration (although I'm not yet there myself).

Re: this episode --- I found Eugene's final elevator moments quite haunting and "beautiful," as you said, Josie. And I was rather distraught thinking about poor, hopeful Lincoln Lee in his new glasses waiting for that date that will likely never come now. I've grown so fond of him in all his incarnations that I hate to see him hurt. Especially if he's just another "get used to disappointment" metaphor for the audience. :(Jess Lyndehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14165015932507376656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-8734431663927288452011-11-27T19:09:55.486-05:002011-11-27T19:09:55.486-05:00I thought it was a good episode, but I was expecti...I thought it was a good episode, but I was expecting a fall finale with Peter-related universe goodness, not a freak of the week. I didn't know about the scheduling mess. It just goes to show how little respect Fringe is getting, and that's sad. It certainly deserves more than that.Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.com
