Now it's Jim /actually/ murdering a bad guy and how that revelation would make the shit hit the fan with the people who /are/ the "good guys."Thomas Ijon Tichyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01401298696128080459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-21606075164346259742016-03-18T00:13:23.770-04:002016-03-18T00:13:23.770-04:00I agree the Mr. Freeze is a super-villain, and I l...I agree the Mr. Freeze is a super-villain, and I loved the creation of the Nora Fries backstory in Batman: The Animated Series. What I don't understand is why it's Mr. Freeze and not Dr. Freeze.

What concerns me more about this show is that the overarching plot that we seem to be dealing with: that Jim has done something wrong, Penguin knows about it, wasn't going to tell, but now might, has all been done before, and not very long ago. Please, Gotham! Come up with some new material for your main characters!Mariannahttp://www.mariannahorn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-38623327550134077052016-03-15T15:22:33.504-04:002016-03-15T15:22:33.504-04:00Thomas, my heartfelt thanks to you for continuing ...Thomas, my heartfelt thanks to you for continuing the review. Monday nights are my favorite now. I love Better Call Saul, but Gotham keeps me just as entertained. Both these shows are my most anticipated all week and I expect that not to change until GOT returns in AprilDocnazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17124235873822215866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-4515962997671859212016-03-15T09:21:38.020-04:002016-03-15T09:21:38.020-04:00Thank you, and I also agree about the TAS version ...Thank you, and I also agree about the TAS version being superior.Thomas Ijon Tichyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01401298696128080459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-16734682680923874382016-03-14T23:14:52.924-04:002016-03-14T23:14:52.924-04:00Welcome to the site Thomas. Gotham is fairly well layered, and is always watchable and well made, if not always very good. This episode was a good example of that, where everything flowed really well but didn't hit quite the right notes.

This version of Mr. Freeze isn't nearly as cringe worthy as say the Governator's turn in the role. But I had to disagree with you about the original source of the tragic version of Mr. Freeze; Batman The Animated Series. Batman TAS's version of Mr. Freeze was nearly perfect. From the timeless look of his retro-futuristic costume, to the way they modulated his deep voice so that he literally sounded cold. The complicated nature of his reason for committing his crimes made him at least moderately sympathetic.

I do agree that this version of Mr. Freeze may not work with the whole dying wife angle, but I'm willing to see where things go from here.

Nice review!

Samantha M.
