When "Kira" said that she loved him, I instantly knew it was a lie because Bareil just died in the PREVIOUS episode... the Founder wouldn't know about Bareil, their relationship, or that Kira would be grieving. But instead Odo went on this long tangent about being able to read people.Dr. Johnny Fevernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-33781502544292724242018-08-05T14:04:30.121-04:002018-08-05T14:04:30.121-04:00This is one of my favorite episodes, as it kicks o...This is one of my favorite episodes, as it kicks off two important arcs for the series. The O/K relationship is what saves the Alpha quadrant, and Nog deciding to join Star Fleet gets the DS9 writers to finally consider treating the Ferengis with some respect. The writers will botch the Ferengi storylines, many times, but occasionally they get to be seen as 3D characters instead of just caricatures. Agree that the two stories don't tie together, though.<br />Victoria Grossackhttp://www.tapestryofbronze.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-60742457795210206062018-08-02T21:43:35.697-04:002018-08-02T21:43:35.697-04:00Even as an oldtime O/K shipper, I have to admit th...Even as an oldtime O/K shipper, I have to admit this episode ranks fairly low on my scale. The two stories don't quite mesh thematically and the climax, while providing a surprising twist, fails to satisfy emotionally. And knowing that Nana Visitor was having a hard time in her life just then and did not enjoy making the episode makes it an unpleasant viewing experience.Garyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06115560031429228529noreply@blogger.com
