Poison just didn't seem like his style to me. To be honest, that whole plot line bugged me because committing suicide to frame him for murder seemed so undermotivated as to be unbelievable. I do think we are seeing the tough side of Bates brought out by his prison experience.

I'm thinking something more must have happened to Mr. Gregson. She writes for his magazine, so surely she would be reach him through work if something weren't seriously wrong.

Juliette, I think the point of getting Anna in trouble was to keep Baxter in Cora's good graces rather than random meanness. Anna was just collateral damage that Thomas didn't care about and he may have judged (correctly) that nothing would really happen to her.magrittenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-62999722102003197512014-02-13T13:55:34.693-05:002014-02-13T13:55:34.693-05:00Bates showing just how scary he can be... He'd better not find out hwo really attacked Anna!

I'm still not ready to believe he killed his wife... but now I believe he could have!CrazyCrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512240982215608638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-55893335236968879452014-02-13T06:46:57.249-05:002014-02-13T06:46:57.249-05:00I keep wondering if, in all this talk of Bates pot...I keep wondering if, in all this talk of Bates potentially maybe wanting to murder someone, anyone's going to wonder if they should have been so quick to defend him before, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case!

I liked Thomas saying Anna wasn't an enemy (despite randomly trying to get her into trouble for no reason earlier in the season). I wish we could have more of season 2/3 Thomas, who's mean but conflicted and generally emotionally confused. I actually like him in those seasons. Random meanness is much less interesting (though good catch on Nanny West, Thomas).Juliettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00203399623895589924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-38585089456368362342014-02-12T20:36:37.031-05:002014-02-12T20:36:37.031-05:00I honestly never thought of what Bates did to Mrs....I honestly never thought of what Bates did to Mrs. Hughes as sinister. I just thought he was desperate to find out what happened to Anna. But now that you mentioned it, I can definitely see it. Maybe he did kill his wife.

Terrific review, Chris. I honestly don't know how you're doing them so quickly. You have said many things that I have thought while watching. Thanks for your reviews. I am also worried about Edith. I don't want her to be the underdog again. She has been doing so well. I thought Carson was a bit petty about Molesley. Carson would be devastated if he lost his position and Molesley didin't lose it from his own fault.drnanamomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667806039402426676noreply@blogger.com
