A few especially intrigue me, though:

Oblivion - I'm definitely not a big Tom Cruise fan, but he CAN act. Plus, this is directed by the guy who directed Tron Legacy, which I thought was a BEAUTIFUL movie. I really want to see what he does next. Plus, the mysteries presented in the trailer have me curious.

Man Of Steel - At first I was really hesitant about this one, but then the trailers started coming out. The version of the first one with Costner's voice-over and the most recent trailer both sent a shiver down my back. I can't remember the last time I was actually EXCITED for a Superman movie!

The Lone Ranger - when this was announced, I was pretty "meh" about it. Lone Ranger, really? Johnny Depp as Tonto, really? Then I saw the trailers, and was "Holy crap, that actually looks pretty cool!" Hopefully they didn't blow all the cool bits in the trailers. :)

There's certainly others from that list I'm planning to go see(Iron Man 3, Trek 2 certainly), but the three I mentioned were the three that have really piqued my curiosity.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03943327351499919454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-79726052401271338472013-01-06T15:48:33.918-05:002013-01-06T15:48:33.918-05:00The legacy of Star Trek just got a little brighter...The legacy of Star Trek just got a little brighter with the news that J.J. Abrams screened an advance rough cut for a terminally ill fan shortly before he died. I believe there was another story somewhat like this several years ago. Still the humanity that this act of kindness shows is exactly the type of thing that Roddenberry dreamed up half a century ago. It's one of the reasons I love the Star Trek franchise, because it brings with it the hope for a better future.Samantha M. Plus perhaps hear him speak with Benedict Cumberbatch's voice? Can't wait for more singing dwarves!!! :o)

I'm really looking forward to The Hobbit, Star Trek, Catching Fire, Man of Steel, Iron Man 3 (last one?), The Wolverine and The Lone Ranger (Johnny Depp, yay!). I don't know anything about Ender's Game, but I've been told I should read it so I guess one of these days I will. :pCrazyCrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512240982215608638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-31721017080739765912013-01-06T14:40:06.803-05:002013-01-06T14:40:06.803-05:00Great list JD, and the ones you highlighted are pr...Great list JD, and the ones you highlighted are pretty much the same ones on my to-do list, especially Iron Man 3, Star Trek, and Man of Steel. I really, really want Man of Steel to not suck as well. Thor is looking good, later in the year, and I really enjoyed the first installment of the Hobbit, so I'm excited about the next one in the trilogy. I'm not a big Superman fan, but I'd follow Henry Cavill to the ends of the earth.

A little worried that Brannagh's not helming the latest installment of Thor. When I saw the first one, I remember thinking that the veteran Shakespearean actor/director was the only man on the planet who could make such stilted and formal dialogue seem un-silly. Hmm...

Most excited about Much Ado About Nothing getting a release date (June 7!) and Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby.sunbunnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08553429350476841139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-58504857994628932262013-01-06T11:57:21.982-05:002013-01-06T11:57:21.982-05:00Great list..and Mortal Instruments stars Robert Sh...Great list..and Mortal Instruments stars Robert Sheehan and Aidan Turner so that's a big maybe for me. Of course, the one I'm most looking forward to is the next Star Trek, and I'm hoping the lack of info is a good sign, not a bad sign.Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-84972461728685880012013-01-06T11:11:14.534-05:002013-01-06T11:11:14.534-05:00Yummy list, J.D.
