We know that the show has at least one foot on what MIGHT BE a variation of the x-men universe... it's why they use the specific term mutants, (as opposed to an analogue like, say, " gifted" or "specials"), and why the show's title has an x inside the o in Legion, to remind us. I say a variation, because it might not even be part of the current x-men cinematic universe, but simply a universe with some version of the x-men in it. Tv tropes calls it " Schrödinger's canon", meaning it can be simultaneously a separate story or a part of the x-men universe.
So, with that said, I think the writers clearly tried to imply that "rational side" was actually David's father, Charles Xavier, lending his son a hand and giving him some useful information all while pretending not to be there. The British accent is just too specific, and it felt too similar to Lenny pretending to be just a figment of David's imagination.Diogohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09623198557097924154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-17095130563300853052017-03-29T14:47:59.746-04:002017-03-29T14:47:59.746-04:00Ah, see I'm using DirectTv. If they did, I must have missed it.

Yeah, Rudy as a character is kind of a mystery for me. He just kind of shows up and disappears when needed without any explanation. He's one of a few characters who have been underserved this season.

I guess we'll find out who's right about him next episode. :)

(And yeah, Fangirl's good!)An Honest Fangirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15093676731627861429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13727952.post-50864640469453308982017-03-29T13:27:37.544-04:002017-03-29T13:27:37.544-04:00Well, Fangirl (if I may)--you were right about how...Well, Fangirl (if I may)--you were right about how the astral and physical planes worked a couple of episodes ago.

I'm really unclear on Rudy, which bothers me a bit. It's not supposed to be a mystery.

And the only reason I know his name is Rudy is Amazon Prime: when you click "pause," the actor and character names for everyone onscreen pop up. It's very handy. My biggest issue lies with the fact that we got two rather large exposition dumps in the penultimate episode. Legion made both of them very interesting and engaging to watch - the chalkboard scene was probably one of my favorite scenes of the whole series. It just feels very late to be getting all of this information. Especially since I'm not sure if the revelation that the Devil with Yellow Eyes is the Shadow King necessarily added anything. Cary said that name Amahl Farouk with such awe, and my reaction was "Who?"

We seem to make very opposite assumptions, Josie. :) I thought for sure that Rudy was alive, just very injured. (Also didn't realize that his name was Rudy.) The glasses and the black and white reality were great. (There were similar glasses that revealed a hellhound in a recent episode of Supernatural.) What happened to the Eye made me shudder. I think my favorite bit was David's rational mind having an English accent. OMG, so funny.

Looking forward to the finale. I hope I understand it.Billie Douxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17141769005175631213noreply@blogger.com
