Invincible

Season Reviews |
Cast |

Invincible is an adult-animated superhero series on Amazon Prime. Based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman, who is also showrunner of the adaptation, it follows Mark Grayson, young son of the world's mightiest superhero, who inherits his father's powers and becomes the new hero known as Invincible. Don't let the bright colors and comic book cliches deceive you, though. This is an epic drama about a vulnerable teenager forced to grapple with right and wrong, family legacy and, quite often, the fate of the world and beyond. A story about great powers and great responsibilities that doesn't pull its punches. Things get messy.

If you're into something that respects the genre while skillfully deconstructing and toying with its tropes and archetypes, Invincible might be the kind of show you're looking for.

Logan Cox is covering this series with season reviews.
