An intriguing blend of time travel, historical fiction and atypical romance, Outlander is about Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a World War II combat nurse on her second honeymoon in 1945 Scotland. Unexpectedly transported two hundred years into the past, Claire becomes involved with eighteenth century highlander Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) while still attempting to return to her own time. Based on the bestselling series of books by Diana Gabaldon, this flagship series on the Starz network has exceptional lead actors, outstanding production values, and explicit sex and violence.

Our current reviewer is Billie Doux, who fell in love with Outlander during the summer of 2019 and subsequently went on a catch-up reviewing blitz. ChrisB reviewed the first thirteen episodes of season one when they originally aired, and Laure Mack also reviewed season four (see Related Links).
