Ravi: “Liv, did you eat a librarian from a porno?”
There wasn’t much to report on the Veronica Mars cameo front, but I was so excited by what happened elsewhere that I wasn’t disappointed at all.
It can be hard to get into a season of something that spends all its time setting up, with very little time left for payoff. Considering the amount that iZombie has been juggling this season, it’s great to see something becoming of all these plots. We’ve had fun the whole way, and this episode brought a number of stories together in an incredible way.
I love that Peyton is becoming a very important character in her own right. She’s had a big role to play this season, with her job as ADA linking her into the season’s big bad “the boss”, as well as our favourite peroxide blonde creep. Her whiskey fuelled encounter with Blaine was pretty poorly times, when she discovered who he really was not long after it happened. I’m glad Liv was there to comfort her when she needed it, too.
I thought for sure that Major’s sneaky double life as Chaos killer was about to come to a head, but he managed to escape Clive and Bozzio (who I really love) just in time, thanks to some rather ingenious thinking on his part. I’ll be sad to see Minor go, too.
I love that Major and Ravi were so nonchalant about Liv wanting them to wrestle. I think she should have pushed them more.
He Said, She Said
Liv: “'As read by Kristen Bell', I’ve always felt a kind of connection to her.”
We’ve still got so many things left to blow up in everyone’s faces, but iZombie isn’t letting these stories linger for too long, or cutting them off mid stream with no real reason. It’s letting each plot run its course, while still managing to bring them all together in some really interesting ways.
