Dear readers, here is the next installment in our About Us Interview series: Drnanamom, also known as Sandy.

What area of the world do you live in, and what do you do? (Because we all know you don't make any money doing this.)

I am a Canadian living in Southern Ontario, which is the most populated part of our country. Our weather is similar to a huge chunk of the United States but our vibe is more like California. Who knows how laid back we’d be if we had more sun! I teach at a university and mostly love it.

If we just handed you a million dollars (you never know), what would you spend it on?

I know everyone else has been very altruistic but I would spend it on a piece of land in the country, a tiny, eco-sensitive, off-the-grid house to make up for the Airstream trailer and truck I would buy. I would travel with whatever was left over, which means I would probably have to retire or I wouldn’t have time.

What random skill would our readers be surprised to know you have?

I’m a so-so potter. I just made some very small but very awesome Raku bottles. I have also managed to make the odd serviceable bowl and mug.

Are you a dog person or a cat person, or is there another animal involved?

I am very much a dog person, which I know puts me in the minority. Unfortunately, I just recently lost my canine life-partner Liliane. She was an American Stratfordshire Terrier (a pitbull) and she was the sweetest dog I have ever met.

What show would recommend everyone finally get around to watching this summer?

Well, I am a huge fan of Doctor Who and Torchwood, but anyone who is anyone has already seen that, right? So I’m going to say Farscape. Sci-fi with Muppets. Need I say more?

Of all the shows we don't cover, list your: (1) guilty pleasure, (2) favorite reality show, and (3) favorite from childhood.

1) Guilty pleasure: Grey’s Anatomy. I know it’s terrible but you did say guilty.

2) Favourite reality show: So You Think You Can Dance, both the American and Canadian. I really don’t like reality TV, but at least I get some interesting music and dance with this show. Mary Murphy drives me crazy though.

3) Favourite from Childhood: Original Star Trek. It looks corny now, but it was cutting-edge when I was a kid. It encouraged me to dream of other possibilities. We played Star Trek in the vacant lot in our suburb. I was always Mr. Spock.

Fill in the blanks: If ___ weren't already reviewing ___, I'd want to do it.

If Billie weren’t already reviewing Supernatural, I’d want to do it. It is such a fun show and I actually did a guest review at some point.

Which character do you identify with the most?

It is hard to find kick-ass, superhero moms who are educators on television or even in movies. I’m sure everyone will now come up with dozens but I can’t think of one I identify with so I will have to go with Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica (new version), if she had some children.

I know I’m cheating, but I can’t take any of these off the list. If I had more space I would start adding Star Trek in its many incarnations.

You are hosting a dinner party for 8 TV characters and/or actors. Who would you invite?

In no particular order, I would invite: John Cavil, one of Cylons in Battlestar Galactica, played by Dean Stockwell (I would debate the nature of humanity with John Cavil and just hang out with Dean Stockwell as I enjoy his acting); Malcolm Reynolds aka Nathon Fillion – both of them are hilarious and handsome; Captain Jack played by John Barrymore, no explanation necessary; Doctor Who, both David Tennant and Matt Smith versions, so we could discuss the differences and similarities; Laura Roslin aka Mary McDonnell also from Battlestar Galactica, for the same reasons as John Cavil; Aeryun Sun from Farscape because she is a rebel and her own woman; and finally Zoe Washburn from Firefly played by Gina Torres. She is the woman I would most like to identify with on television, but I am not tall enough or tough enough to get even close.
