What a year Major’s had. For what seems like the hundredth time, he’s in big trouble. Not even super positivity brain can help him now.
His actions as the chaos killer have been on-going all season, and we’ve seen his secret coming very close to being ousted several times, but he’s always managed to escape it at the last minute. Now, following Ravi’s discovery last week, Major has finally been caught by Det. Bozzio. I’m not sure how he’ll get out of this one without showing the FBI all of the frozen zombies he’s got stashed away. I’m excited to see him try, though.
He’s also got zombie-ism to worry about now. What will happen to an incarcerated zombie when he or she doesn’t get regular access to brains? Do they go crazy? Probably. Liv and Ravi have a huge task on their hands to get some to Major on time to stop that from happening. Hopefully some of Liv’s over-achiever brain will still be in effect long enough for her to formulate a plan to get him out of this mess. If she can forgive him, that is.
I enjoyed all of the mentions of the similarities between Liv and her brain of the week; laser focused student Bailey. Liv used to be like her long before all of this zombie mess started. Once upon a time she was less about the greater good, and more concerned with “accolades, grades and accomplishments”. What’s interesting here is that not only has Liv undergone some temporary changes in her mindset thanks to the brains she eats, but she’s also been permanently changed herself. I like that Liv herself is still very much a character behind all of the strippers, betters and wannabe novelists, and we saw here that she’s a far cry from the person she used to be. Will turning human, whenever that will be, change her back to that girl? I doubt it.
Being that kind of person didn’t help Bailey in the end. Her single-minded nature got her into a pretty nasty position, no thanks to Det. Benedetto, who manipulated her into acting as an undercover CI. He’s an interesting character to have around, particularly when he plays off Clive and his rule-abiding ways so well. After he turned Benedetto’s misguided CI operation over to Internal Affairs, Clive was threatened by him. He’s already facing a lot of heat in the office but it doesn’t look like that’ll get any easier for him now. Hopefully Enrico Colantoni will be back a lot more so we can see more of this dynamic play out. Clive needs some more interesting stories of his own.
It seems like Blaine is going to have some equally troubling office politics, with his memory loss placing him in a very precarious position. With Don taking over his operation it’s never been more important for him to turn back into the quipping, sarcastic creep we know and love to stop what will no doubt be a huge war between his side of the fence and Mr Boss’ side. I wonder if this will be the start of some sort of redemption story for Blaine. Part of me would like to see that, but I love him most when he’s scheming and manipulating everyone. He’ll more than likely be back doing just that soon enough; I don’t think this memory loss will last forever. My guess is he’ll remember who he was at a very fortunate moment. Or maybe I’m completely over thinking this and he’s been faking the whole time. That’s almost a more fun option.

Gilda is being held captive by her father. I’ve got all my fingers crossed for her to get out and go right for his head. I’m so ready for him to be taken down. That’s not to say that he’s been a bad villain, though. It’s probably the opposite. I also really, really want to see Liv and Gilda face off.
Minor turned out to be the piece in Major’s house of cards that caused it to all come tumbling down. A nice touch that Major’s not at all conspicuous visit to the vet to get Minor wasn’t forgotten about.
I was kind of sad that Liv wasn’t on bro brains when she ran into frat boy Brody from ‘Zombie Bro’.
He Said, She Said
Gilda: “Oh, that's your plan: to cure me?
Vaughn: “It's my top priority. I mean, after the Super Max launch. But once that's done, it's all hands on deck to make you back into a redhead.”
Major: “Let's not worry about tomorrow until we're done enjoying today.”
Liv: “OK, but when this everything-is-awesome brain wears off, I want you to know how sorry I am.”
The case here was largely removed from the high stakes game that’s going on with regards to Major and his arrest, but it was still an exhilarating set-up for the final two episodes of the season. You can see all of the different characters being put into position for what’s sure to be an exciting conclusion to an almost perfect sophomore season for iZombie, and considering how strong the story machinations have been so far, it’s looking like it will be an explosive one.

iZombie is getting some speed. So much goes on, it's amazing how they manage to keep all the balls in the air.
