It would seem that only remaining way the BBC can generate significant revenue from the classic series now is to continue the releases of full seasons on Blu-Ray, where people still scoop them up for the updated picture quality, new bonus features, etc. (Long story short, we won't be getting a Season One Blu-Ray release any time soon.)

Doctor Who home
For those who missed it, Tom Baker is now Sir Tom, having been made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire last week. Have a jelly baby to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid an MBE isn't a knighthood so he isn't Sir Tom, although he really should be.
DeleteYou’re right; clearly I need to brush up on my honours categories. He certainly should be Sir Tom, though; he’s saved the place often enough.
DeleteI need to catch up on the season boxed sets. I already have everything available on DVD/Blu-Ray individually, and started picking up those season sets, but fell behind.
