Classic Doctor Who on Youtube

Starting in late 2024, a BBC-operated YouTube channel Doctor Who: Classic has been posting full serials of numerous classic era adventures. It would seem that the BBC has decided that there's not much additional value to be mined from the classic era, since everything had long been released on physical media (VHS, DVD, etc), or on free channels like Pluto.TV, or on demand on Britbox, so for all intents and purposes they're now giving it away. (For the moment, at least.)

It would seem that only remaining way the BBC can generate significant revenue from the classic series now is to continue the releases of full seasons on Blu-Ray, where people still scoop them up for the updated picture quality, new bonus features, etc. (Long story short, we won't be getting a Season One Blu-Ray release any time soon.)
