It Welcome to Derry: The Black Spot

"Do I got face on my face?"

Yes, you did have a bit of face on your face, although that might have been the least concerning thing that happened this episode.

Morella's Best of 2025

For this year end’s "Best Of," I’m going with an oldie but goodie: my top ten episodes of Scooby Doo, Where Are You?. This is the first Scooby Doo series ever made, going back to 1969, and its continued presence on TV was a huge part of my childhood.

I loved Scooby Doo as a kid and still do now. Between classic horror and this show, I get my love for gothic architecture, dark and stormy nights, and haunted places that I retain to this day that I even take to other media, such as finding some great horror themed modpacks for Minecraft, and enjoying custom stories in Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

The Mighty Nein: Many Gifts

Wizard humor is very dry.

In which our stalwart heroes go on a goose chase for protection, Essek realizes a fundamental truth, and a new and implacable evil rises from the shadows.

Movie Review: Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

“Are you willing to break the thing that no one wants you to break?”

Will you laugh at me if I tell you that Glass Onion is one of my comfort movies? It probably depends on how well you know me: close friends might give a knowing chuckle, random acquaintances might back away slowly, wondering why they ever thought I was normal. But I love the movie’s propulsive feel, the twists and turns, and—above all—the way it refuses to take billionaire bird brains seriously.

Néro the Assassin: The Villain

Hortense: I order you not to die. That child needs you. And me as well. So no one dies without my permission.
Néro: As you wish, Princess.

Episode description: “Néro confronts a friend and his history while Rochemort deals with allegations. The penitents' arrival may change where loyalties lie.”

An Honest Fangirl's Best of 2025

As the year comes to the end, it is now time for us here at Doux Reviews to give our personal recaps and Best Of lists. I get to start us off! It was hard deciding what to spotlight, and two of my picks are going to be highly predictable, but here are the books, shows, movies, and games that I loved most in 2025.

The Mighty Nein: Little Spark

We've got a homeless wizard, an inebriated goblin, a half-orc midshipman who doesn't understand his power, and a temperamental monk way over her head.

The fifth episode of The Mighty Nein picks up right after the cliffhanger of the last episode, and boy, it's a doozy... and we learn a whole lot about Caleb.

The Mighty Nein: The Mighty Nein

We don't even know each other. But right now our hearts are in the exact same place.

With possibly some justification, our heroes are imprisoned. With, also, possibly some justification, they don’t think it’s fair; there’s clearly more to that devil toad than met the eye, ear, or quaking audience of terror. There’s nothing to do but this: JAILBREAK!

The Mighty Nein: The Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities

“Hey, if you can’t blend in, you were meant to stand out.”

The third episode of The Mighty Nein is a highly entertaining turning point which features a new character, some fantastic thoughtful moments, terrifying action, and a giant magical toad.

It Welcome to Derry: In the Name of the Father

“It’s gotten to you too.”

This was somehow both really sweet and really disturbing at the same time. It also might be my favorite episode in a while, even if I continue to get annoyed by weird editing and general stupidity. At some point, though, you just have to accept a show for what it is.

The Mighty Nein: Who Will You Be?

Take off your jacket, have a drink, lend an ear: it's time to start the show...

Three new characters from the Nein get introduced in this episode. Also, a god, sort of, and magical sex toys.

The War Between the Land and the Sea: A Prelude

This will not be a review of the first two episodes of the Doctor Who spinoff, The War Between the Land and the Sea.

This is mostly down to the fact that I haven't been able to see it yet. Which helps, when reviewing.
