A world away from the talking cats, flying vacuums and TGIF magic of the 1990s take on the character of Sabrina Spellman, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018-2020) is its own angst-ridden beast.
As she fights the pull of the Church of Night, the order her family has been a part of for centuries, Sabrina struggles to balance her mortal life with the dark weight of her witchy one, and the results are a lot of fun. Starring Kiernan Shipka and Miranda Otto amongst others, this series deftly pulls on all the standard teenage tropes, while still thrilling us with a host of frightful and magical surprises straight out of classic genre horror. Think Riverdale, only less terrible and a whole lot more bewitching.
