Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973-1975) has been something of an unwanted franchise stepchild. Created specifically to address the fan clamor for more Star Trek, the series increased the demand instead of satisfying it. ST:TAS (the show was simply entitled Star Trek but the phrase "The Animated Series" has been added for convenience) featured the voices of the original series cast and included the efforts of some of the original series writers.
The Agents of Doux decided to try a new form of coverage for ST:TAS – a "discussion review."
