Oliver: "It's been awhile, but I could probably find my way into the ice queen's vault."
Holy double entendre, Oliver.
You know, I like Oliver a lot, and they can strip down Justin Hartley any time and I'm there. But Tess is a waste of character space. She's good, she's bad, she's Lex, she's Lionel, I've reached the point where I just don't care any more. The "Injustice League" could have worked, too. Instead, they made a tiny flash in the pan and it sort of fizzled.
So Oliver killing Lex equals Clark killing Davis? Or Oliver killing Lex doesn't equal Clark killing Davis. I can't quite swallow Clark and Oliver as adversaries. I suppose we could make another comparison. Oliver sacrificing his virtue to Tess (or trying really hard to) for the greater good, like Chloe is doing with Davis. At least I hope there's some virtue sacrificing going on. It'd be a shame if we got to the end of season eight and Chloe didn't get any fun out of this at all.
I did like the black K idea. I liked the idea of Davis/Doomsday separated, and Davis as just a human being still alive at the end of the season. And then Tess had the black K destroyed. So much for that.
I couldn't make out what the big red ball was saying to Tess in the final scene. That wasn't important, was it?
Bits and pieces:
— Fake Chloe took me in. I should have known. And why couldn't they have left out a few Tess scenes and showed Chloe and Davis on the road together?
— I liked the subtle Injustice League leather costumes with the discreet little cross. Was that cross for Tess's obsession with alien Jesus?
— Clarke's power aura was a red blue blur. I liked that.
— Dr. Emil (Alessandro Juliani) was back again, and Clark was even giving him Chloe-like tasks, which practically elevated him to sidekick status. I'd love it if they kept bringing him back. I love it when actors I like in one series cross over and do well in another.
— This episode was directed by Tom Welling.
Quotes:
Fake Chloe: "I just survived a Gothic romance with Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde. I think I can handle anything you throw at me."
Funny how Fake Chloe was able to come up with those clever lines that the real Chloe is known for. Did she soak up Chloe's wit along with her looks?
Oliver: "I was thinking we'd just take the afternoon off and, ah, pop the cork."
Tess: "Keep your cork in your pants."
That was a good one. I also liked Tess saying to a naked Oliver, "You can streak down Memory Lane all by yourself." It almost made Tess being the focus of the episode worth it. Almost.
Um, two out of four stars?

Billie Doux had a love-hate relationship with Smallville, which is why some of her reviews are briefer than they should be.
