Star Wars Episode IX Teaser Trailer

Star Wars is coming to an end. The final chapter in the Skywalker Saga that began in 1977 by George Lucas is only eight months away. There was very little information about the film beyond casting rumors and the return of J.J. Abrams as director. That changed today.

Below is the teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

What did you think of the trailer and that title?

Like the trailer, not so keen on the title. I'm hoping it's just a misdirect and not a sign they are going to retcon TLJ just to appease a vocal minority.

I had a feeling that they might bring Palpatine back to this for some extent. I hope they don't do anything dumb but I'm not exactly confident. I'm sure Ian will do a good job at least.

At this point claiming any side is a "vocal minority" isn't really gonna make either opinion more or less valid (especially in this day and age). No matter how this film goes it was pretty obvious somebody was gonna be pissed off so I guess we'll all see the film and make up our own minds.

The teaser looks good, but trailers for Star Wars movies usually do. I was thoroughly disappointed by The Last Jedi and Solo, and even The Force Awakens doesn't seem as good to me anymore, though it's still a fun movie(considering it recycles a LOT of A New Hope). I no longer get excited by the prospect of new Star Wars material, but I'll admit I'm intrigued. I do want this saga to have a satisfying conclusion. Of course, I also know from experience that JJ Abrams is much better at starting things than he is at finishing them.
