Lost: Greatest Hits

Nadia: "You are a hero, sir. And don't let anyone ever tell you differently."

This was an amazing, moving episode. It was very much Charlie's last hurrah. The weird thing was that he didn't hurrah. It was like leaving the punch line off the end of a joke.

Lost: Fire + Water

Charlie: "Kate sees a horse: nothing. Pretty much everybody's seen Walt wandering round the jungle. But when it's Charlie, it must be the bloody drugs, right?"

I'm not really sure what happened in this episode.

Lost: Homecoming

Claire: "Why would you keep me in the dark, Charlie? I'm already in the dark."

I like Dominic Monaghan a lot. I can't imagine Lost without Charlie. But for some reason, possibly because I had an alcoholic parent, I just don't have much patience for Charlie's past life as an addict. I understood what it all meant, that Charlie was learning and growing, and that his past failure with Lucy was what compelled him to shoot Ethan. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Lost: The Moth

Liam: "Face it. If you're not in this band, what the bloody hell use are you?"

I've wondered about the content of Charlie's character. Turns out Charlie was a devout Catholic who was seduced by the Dark Side when he became a rock god. Charlie's brother Liam said that Charlie was nothing without the band, and that was exactly how we were seeing him and how Charlie saw himself – as a drug addict and a loser.
