Lanterns: Dirt and Stars

“Don’t be afraid to be afraid.”

We started the season with the question “Are you afraid?” We end it with the acknowledgement that the answer doesn’t necessarily matter nearly as much as how you act despite your fear.

Lanterns: The Jordan Boys' Legacy

“Can’t hold on to it forever.”
“Why not?”

We had another quiet, meditative hour for our penultimate episode. I'm going to miss Hal. He had a very, very good episode.

Lanterns: Bad Optics

“You didn’t take the fall. You fell.”

Well, I guess that he really is dead. You don’t have a funeral like that if you were planning on walking it back.

Lanterns: Lights Out

“Was it worth it?”

Well, that certainly felt like a season finale. It was also definitely my favorite episode of the season so far.

Lanterns: The Weenie

“Jazz. That can’t be good.”

Hey, what's wrong with jazz? It's a perfectly acceptable music genre!

Lanterns: OutKast

“This is when most candidates ask, ‘Why me?’”
“Oh. No, I know exactly why me.”

Well, Sinestro did want Hal to tell him about John Stewart. He got his wish.

Lanterns: Trust Fall

“May I ask you a question about the bird, John Stewart?”

You have no idea how stressed I was about this bird. I love the bird. Hearing it chirp was my favorite thing.

Lanterns: Pilot

“It’s only one question: Are you afraid?”

A comic book show on HBO that is also a gritty mystery that directly cites True Detective as an inspiration? I’ve been waiting for this show for years.
