The Legend of Korra

Season Reviews | Cast |

The Legend of Korra (2012-2014) is the sequel to the beloved animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The show takes place 70 years after the ending of the Hundred Year War. The once separated Four Nations have been brought together into the United Republic of Nations. The peaceful era of Aang has ended, and the Avatar is born anew in Korra, a gifted but hardheaded Waterbender who is able to quickly master the elements. Having been sheltered all her life, Korra decides to travel from the Southern Water Tribe to Republic City, a metropolis for benders and non-benders alike, so that she can fulfill her purpose as the Avatar and help bring balance to the world.

The Legend of Korra honors the legacy of its predecessor but is able to successfully set itself apart as its own story. It introduces a new host of characters, hybrid creatures, and lore that takes the world of the Avatar into exciting new heights.
