Avatar: The Last Airbender (Live Action - 2024)

Avatar: The Last Airbender is a beloved animated series with wonderful characters and world building. Avatar: The Last Airbender is live action… on Netflix (let's forget that movie), well, I need to talk about it, because on paper it is a fantastic adaptation.

Five TV Villains Turned Heroes

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. But sometimes your enemy is your friend because audiences love a good redemption story. Or even a bad redemption story. Audiences just really love redemption stories. So here's five bad guys who decided they were better off being good(ish) guys.

Avatar The Last Airbender: Season 3

"Firelord Ozai, you and your forefathers have devastated the balance of this world, and now you shall pay the ultimate price!"

Avatar: The Last Airbender comes to an end as Aang learns to master firebending and prepares to finally face Fire Lord Ozai.

Avatar The Last Airbender: Season 2

"There is no war in Ba Sing Se."

Improving and building on what came before, season two is where Avatar: The Last Airbender cemented its place as not just one of the greatest animated series of all time, but one of the greatest TV series full stop.

Avatar The Last Airbender: Season 1

"Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished."

It's not often I say this but thank god for misdiagnosis. If it wasn’t for that doctor reading my x-ray wrong and telling me I had a broken bone in my foot I never would’ve spent a week on my backside and discovered the wonder that is Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005-2008) is one of the most popular and acclaimed animated series ever produced. Set in a world where certain individuals can control the elements (water, earth, fire, and air), the series follows the adventures of twelve-year-old Aang, the latest incarnation of the Avatar (the only one who can control all four elements), as he learns to master his skills so that he can one day defeat the evil Fire Lord Ozai and bring peace to the world. Mark Greig reviewed the animated series.

In 2024, Netflix rebooted the series with live action. Samantha M. Quinn is reviewing the new version.
