Sense8: What is Human?

Kala: "It's so violent."
Capheus: "Life is violent."

This was a strange episode that was one-half resolving a bunch of dangling plot threads, and one half celebration and set up for the final arc of the season.

Sense8: Death Doesn't Let You Say Goodbye

"It's fake. Like everything in my life."

A lot happened in the closing minutes of the last episode and the fallout from those fateful events are felt in mostly quiet moments between the Sensates in this episode.

The Vampire Lestat: The Failures

“You are listening to The Failures, Album 58, Side A.”

I had to think about this episode for a bit to figure out how I felt about it, and ultimately I believe it is brilliant, but perhaps divisive upon first viewing.

The Vampire Lestat: Montreal

“Because, Louis, I'm a monster.”

As the penultimate episode of the season, we get a mostly quiet and emotional hour between Louis and Lestat, unfortunately capped with an utterly jaw dropping cliffhanger.

The Vampire Lestat: New York

"It will drag you into depravity and reward you with regret."

Lestat finally starts talking about his lost years, which is slotting in some of the final foundational pieces of his life.

Sense8: We Will All Be Judged by the Courage of Our Hearts

Nomi: “Cop guy, where are you? Someone help me.”

Things seem to be ramping up, especially on the conspiracy side of things. With Whispers actively hunting down Nomi after her fateful encounter with Dr. Metzger.

The Vampire Lestat: The Devil’s Road

"What now, Daddy Lou?"

This episode had a slightly different feel. It was a bit less chaotic and more emotionally charged. Lestat is unraveling, and it is both tragic and compelling to watch.

Supergirl (2026)

“He sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth.”

As the next entry to the new DC Universe franchise that started with Superman (2025), this is a solid, action filled, enjoyable film that gets a lot right.

The Vampire Lestat: Toronto

“All the light’s gone out of your blue eyes. As if all the summer days are gone.”

Swinging back to an interview style, this episode packs a seriously heavy emotional one-two punch. Yet even with as much as we uncover, bits of the story feel unfinished, or maybe edited, as Lestat dribbles out small snippets of his history.

The Vampire Lestat: Toledo

"If you're still listening after the... Oedipiphany of the last hour, welcome back."

Addressing the big reveal at the end of the first episode, we get some harrowing moments from Lestat's life.

Sense8: WWN Double-D?

"Hey, look, if you guys are startin' some crimefightin' super-team Charlie's Angels shit, you count me in."

This was primarily a Nomi/Amanita episode with everyone else secondary, although everyone had something major happen.

Sense8: Demons

Episodes five and six feel like one story. While five was about connection and choice, episode six is about the repercussions of those choices.

The Vampire Lestat: Detroit

“I lost myself on stage for a moment.”

As a rebrand and sequel to Interview With The Vampire, this feels like something completely new. Structurally, thematically, atmospherically, sonically, everything about this first episode screams new direction. It is spoken aloud that we’re no longer in Louis’s version of the story. We are now in Lestat’s world and it is already one hell of a ride.

Sense8: Art is Like Religion

“Impossibility is a kiss away from reality.”

While the last episode dealt with reveals and some answers, this episode went right back to questions as each member of the cluster started to realize their little hallucinations are a lot more complicated.

Sense8: What’s Going On?

“So I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed. Just to get it all out, what's in my head. And I, I am feeling a little peculiar.”

Every so often an episode of a new series defines that show. Sometimes it is a character, sometimes it is a scene or a phrase of dialogue. Here it is all three, plus a perfectly chosen song that captures a moment and brings together our eight protagonists in a way that feels revelatory.

Sense8: Smart Money’s on the Skinny Bitch

(Samantha is filling in our missing Sense8 season one reviews. Thank you so much, Samantha!)

“We are the Superpower, we take the f**k we want!”

This episode is the first time we get a real peek at the show’s central conceit and core idea, and it is also a turning point in understanding what the hell is going on, even though nothing is really explained.

Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars

Scorpius: "This is insane, Crichton."
John: "Four years on and you're finally gettin' that?"

While filming of this two-part finale began in December of 2003, just nine months after the show was cancelled (March 10, 2003), we didn’t find out about Peacekeeper Wars until the following May and had to wait another five months (October 17, 2004) for it to premiere. We had to stew with nothing but rumors for over a year that we wouldn’t be left with that miserable ending.

Wednesday: Season Two, Part One

“I cause chaos. I don’t succumb to it.”

Uneven, convoluted but ultimately a lot of fun, this first half of season two does deliver on the promise of the first but the execution leaves a little to be desired.

This review contains full spoilers for the first four episodes of season two.
