Well, the BBC has finally released an official statement on the future of Doctor Who, and it's simultaneously a big update and also no news whatsoever.
Fortunately, if there's a fanbase fully prepared for this sort of thing, it's Doctor Who fans.

Billions: The Deal
"It's been a weird couple of days."
Billions season one hits the midseason mark with an episode that puts a bit of a pause on the overarching plot of the season in favor of a thoughtful character piece that ratchets up the tension at every turn.

Evil: 7 Swans a Singin'
"And remember, a good concealer can literally cover all your sins."
Evil does a Christmas episode. Because of course it does.

Billions: The Good Life
"Don’t tell him part of the story until you know the whole story."
Chuck and his team draw in the net around Dollar Bill in the hopes of getting him to flip on Axe.
Axe, however, isn't terribly bothered, as he's currently either having a massive existential crisis or orchestrating an incredibly complicated power play for shadowy reasons of his own. Could go either way.

Evil: Exorcism Part 2
Andy: "You got more demanding."
Kristen: "You don’t know the half of it."
Evil takes a moment to reckon with some consequences from earlier in the season and introduces my favorite ever supporting character.

Evil: 2 Fathers
"Is he talking about his seed again?"
Sometimes the title of an episode is an interesting metaphor. Or an obfuscation of what the episode is really about. Or an underpinning message that will only make sense in hindsight once you've seen the episode and reflect.
And sometimes an episode about two different fathers is called '2 Fathers' and you just get on with things.

Stranger Things: Season Five Discussion
by
Billie Doux
We're covering the fifth and final season of Stranger Things with a discussion post. Five of the Agents of Doux participated.
And we're off! Please note that this discussion is chock full o' spoilers. If you haven't seen season five yet and you plan to, you might want to come back later.

The War Between the Land and the Sea: A Prelude
This will not be a review of the first two episodes of the Doctor Who spinoff, The War Between the Land and the Sea.
This is mostly down to the fact that I haven't been able to see it yet. Which helps, when reviewing.

Evil: Vatican III
"The Vatican doesn’t apologize."
Evil splits its attention this week as the various threads of the season start coming into focus. Was that a mixed metaphor?

Evil: Let X = 9
"Do you have any idea how weird it is for me to be involved in this? I mean, I go to Whole Foods during the day, and at night I say things like, ‘Would you have told the exorcist?'"
Jeffrey Epstein and vindictive ICE raids. Did this air in 2019 or last Tuesday?

Evil: October 31
'Sorry, no candy. Happy Halloween!'
I mean, they kind of had to do a Halloween episode, didn't they.

Evil: Rose390
"Ben the Magnificent!"
Federal Statute 38746-4/A(3): Every television genre show must, at some point in its run, do an episode about a creepy, possessed child. See appendix b RE: standard definitions of 'creepy,' 'possessed,' and 'child.'
See also: Musical episode.

Evil: 3 Stars
"Oh, I would want. That would be great. Yes, please, please, yes."
Kristen, David, and Ben investigate a possible case of Diabolical Obsession. Just another day on Broadway.

Doctor Who: The Reality War
"Well, now you're going too far."
OK, that was a lot. And then a second helping of 'a lot.' With 'a lot' sprinkles on top.
You just know there's about to be a spoiler manatee.

Doctor Who: Wish World
"And now, it's time for today's story. 'Doctor Who and the Deadly Wish.'"
Part one of the two-part finale for this season of Doctor Who is definitively not messing around. And, against all odds, I really liked it.

Doctor Who: The Interstellar Song Contest
"This is the greatest song contest in the universe, so as you would say – let’s raise the roof!"
Doctor Who offers up what's promised to be an entertaining, if fluffy, throwaway romp, but instead turns out to be a thoughtful meditation on the effects of weaponized bigotry with a few massive reveals thrown in toward the end.
One wonders what Rylan made of it.

Doctor Who: The Story and the Engine
"The Doctor! We need him now! It needs feeding!"
Doctor Who goes somewhere we've never been before, gives us a breathtaking study on the power of stories, community, heartbreak, the feeling of abandonment, and the grace of forgiveness. And I don't know if I'm qualified to talk about any of it.
But let's give it a shot.

Doctor Who: The Well
"It came from the well. It came out of the well and we don’t know how to stop it!"
The Doctor and Belinda continue their quest to find their way back to May 24, 2025. Things do not go according to plan. That's as much as you should know before you watch this episode.

Doctor Who: Lux
"I’ve toppled worlds. Sometimes I wait for people to topple the world. Until then, I live in it, and I shine."
The Doctor trips the light fandango. Or at least the light fan-psychotico. Actually, the light kind of trips him. There are fans, though.
