Stargate: Universe (2009-2011) was the second spinoff of the popular Stargate franchise. Its focus is a group of refuge scientists, bureaucrats, and military personnel trapped on the Destiny, a dilapidated Ancient ship traveling on an unknown course through the far reaches of the Universe. Featuring a darker tone and a more serialized, character-driven narrative than its predecessors, the series chronicles the unwitting crew's fight to survive and to return home.
