Cordelia and Connor shacking up? I certainly didn't expect that.
My goodness, how Oedipus Rex-y of them, especially after Connor's serious attempt at sinking Daddy to the bottom of the sea last season. I'd think I was jumping to conclusions too quickly if I hadn't actually seen Connor's hand on Cordelia's breast when they were snuggled innocently in bed together. I'm not the only one who saw that, am I? And Angel pushing the romantic envelope – trying to remind Cordelia about their night at the ballet, and then leaning in and almost kissing her in the bedroom? Extremely interesting love triangle they're developing.
Is the torrid Wesley/Lilah love affair over, or can it survive this little bump? I thought he'd get a lot more from her than that before she caught him out. Loved their little one dollar bet; although I noticed she didn't collect her winnings. At least we're totally clear now about where Wesley's allegiance lies, although I honestly didn't have any doubts in the first place.
It's actually very funny, the idea of an amnesiac plopped down in the middle of the insanity that is Angel Investigations. The yearbook thing was cute, too ("Hey, how about that giant snake?" "Thanks for the flaming arrows.") Perhaps losing her memory was the price she paid for returning? Or maybe the Powers couldn't let her remember what she saw up above... or couldn't let her pass on what's going to happen? Even though the Evil Ninja Law Firm made that happen anyway.
Speaking of which, poor Lorne! This victimizing of Lorne simply has to stop.
Slouching toward Bethlehem (yes, I know it's from Yeat's "Second Coming"); adjectives from the Book of Revelations; from beneath you it devours? Dan thinks it's possible that the big bad in this season might be the same as the big bad currently arising in Sunnydale. That would be cool, wouldn't it? Sort of a crossover without the actual crossing over?
Bits and pieces:
— Cordelia really did lose her wonderful rent-controlled apartment. What happened to poor Phantom Dennis? Don't let him just disappear like Miss Kitty Fantastico!
— The demon Lorne was "reading" was a direct ripoff of Blade II. And yuck.
— Cordelia's roots were dark. Please, go dark again, Charisma! Just repeat to yourself, I'm a brunette! I'm a brunette!
— Lorne called Fred, "pumpkin nut." I didn't know what it meant, but I thought it was apt.
— The song Cordelia sang was the same one she did in the season one Buffy episode, "The Puppet Show." Continuity, thou art a gem.
— Cordelia's amnesia (that rhymes) will be a good thing if it allows the old Cordelia to emerge. My fingers are crossed.

Gunn: "Um. Not a sidekick?"
Angel: "How could you let her wander off alone?"
Fred: "The words 'grown woman' come to mind."
Angel: "What if Wolfram and Hart came back? What if there were hundreds of those things? What if this is the way it starts? I mean, the slouching and the Bethlehem, and they've taken her because of what she knows. Even if she can't remember, she knows it."
Fred: "Have you been caffeinating your blood again, or is there something you're not telling us?"
Fred: "Is that why you ran out while Cordelia was singing?"
Lorne: "Well, A: I wasn't running out, I was fleeing. And B: yes."
Gunn: "Well, how horrible is this thing?"
Lorne: "Well, I haven't read the book of Revelations lately, but if I was searching for adjectives, I'd probably start there."

Billie Doux reviewed all of Buffy and Angel, so she knows the plural of apocalypse.
One thing I appreciated about Leila's plan was that it was foolproof. If Wesley either doesn't eavesdrop, or doesn't relay the information to Angel, she'd have grabbed Cordelia. I'm sure Wolfram and Hart could find a use for her, either for her visions or as a hostage.

I loved that line so, so much and it always stuck in my mind... glad to finally reach it and timestamp it for future reference. Lilah rules! I get a glimpse of old Wesley, looking completely humbled by it. I'm gonna splice all their scenes together into one file when the season is ogre. It's so fucking good.
