This Week: Zac Efron for No Particular Reason

An Honest Fangirl
: What have people been watching/playing/reading lately?

Heated Rivalry still has me in a chokehold, to the point where I'm going to watch Saturday Night Live this week because Connor Storrie is hosting. I think he'll be good at it, so hopefully they'll give him fun stuff to do.

This Week: At Least We'll Always Have David Tennant

What are you all watching?

I have to say that Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is not working out for me. I keep doing that painful yawning where tears come into your eyes. I was so thrilled when they cast Holly Hunter as the lead, but what are they doing to her?

This Week: Happy Halloween!

Billie Doux: I'm enjoying the third season of The Diplomat and I'm looking forward to the second season of Nobody Wants This. With the final season approaching, I'm rewatching Outlander while still avoiding the spinoff Blood of my Blood. (It's amazing that they call it BOB instead of BomB. They probably don't want it to bomb.) I might be doing some Outlander novella reviews.

What is everyone watching this week?

This Week: A Change in the Fluffy

An Honest Fangirl:
We haven't done one of these in a while, so let's throw out a broader question. What was your favorite tv/movie/book/etc that you consumed this past summer? Alternatively, is there anything coming up for this fall season that you're particularly excited for?

I had been looking forward to the latest FBI spinoff titled CIA, simply because it's starring Tom Ellis, but apparently it's been pushed back to a midseason premiere. The Pitt also isn't coming back until January so I'm mainly waiting for winter.

This Week: Revisiting the Arrowverse

Billie Doux: While I am still watching the nearly grown eaglet chicks at Big Bear, my cat Kara has (with my help) just discovered Cat TV on YouTube. She seems to find the fish boring, but the squirrels too exciting. Every time they run off the screen, Kara bobs behind the television, trying to see where they went. Birdies seem to be a nice compromise, although she keeps batting at the screen.

This Week: Literally Nothing I Can't Tie Back to Doctor Who

Mikey Heinrich: OK, so lately my only real night of appointment TV is Ghosts and Elsbeth which air Thursdays on CBS. And by night, I do mean that I get around to streaming them sometime Friday or Saturday.

Regardless, this week the new episode of Ghosts was titled "I Know What You Did Thirty-Seven Summers Ago" and the new episode of Elsbeth is titled "I Know What You Did Thirty-Three Summers Ago" and apparently, according to every online source I can think to look at, it's just a complete coincidence.

This Week: The M Word

Billie Doux: Murderbot is coming to Apple+ in May! We have to find a way to cover this one. I read the book series for the first time fairly recently and I've been looking forward to seeing it on the screen. SkarsgÄrd!

This Week: It has Abed from Community

I decided to watch Suits LA when it premiered on Sunday. I liked Stephen Amell a lot on Arrow, I liked the original show, the original creator is doing it, it seemed like a good time.

This Week: The Fourth Best Indiana Jones Movie

What has everyone been watching lately? I haven’t watched a ton of TV outside of football or football-related true crime. I have a few things coming out around Valentine’s Day that I’m really excited about, though, like The Gorge for Apple TV. I’m always a sucker for Anya Taylor-Joy.

This Week: I'm Clearly Michael Sheen Stalking

Mikey Heinrich: Has anybody else watched Staged with David Tennant and Michael Sheen? It really is very, very funny.

This Week: Do You Watch Anything Special on Halloween?

What is everyone watching this week? Do you watch anything special on Halloween? I used to watch the Buffy Halloween episodes around this time of year, since I'm not a horror movie fan.

This Week: Excellent Glares

An Honest Fangirl: Now that fall TV has come back, what is everyone watching?

I tried two new shows. A Murder in a Small Town was very good. Apparently it’s based on a book? It stars Kristen Kreuk as a librarian love interest, and was a lot cozier than I expected it to be.

This Week: The Writers Room for Legends of Tomorrow

An Honest Fangirl: Football season is officially upon us, so I spent far too many hours watching that and various pre and post game shows. But I've also been watching more Shudder documentaries. Horror's Greatest is currently airing and it's very good!

This Week: LinkedIn is Innately Evil

Billie Doux: So what is everyone watching this week?

I am so pleased to share the news that the Canadian time travel series Continuum is available again in the U.S. It just popped up on Prime, and I'm already rewatching. If you like exciting, complex time travel stories and didn't catch Continuum when it first aired, give it a try. It's one of those shows that keeps adding layers of complexity and coolness as it progresses.

This Week: Titus Welliver was at Trader Joe's

Mikey Heinrich: So, I was wondering something. I finished The Morning Show and mostly enjoyed it and now am circling back to watch season three of Upload. I really enjoyed the first two seasons, but this one just isn't grabbing me. But I have a hard time not carrying on following a show, even once I stop enjoying it.

What's everybody else's policy for how long to hang in there before cutting bait?

This Week: His Face is Made of Rubber

Outside of my weekly watching of Interview with the Vampire and Doctor Who (both so so good!!!), I have been fully immersed in shark movies. I’m having a ton of fun with them, but it also makes me boring.

What’s everyone else watching?

This Week: I'm Hoping Colin Farrell or a Donkey will Pop Up

I haven't really watched a ton of TV or movies lately, and instead got sucked into Marvel's Midnight Suns, a shockingly good game that came out at the very end of 2022 and promptly flopped.

I'm very sad that it did, because it's easily in my Top 10 favorite games of all time. It feels like I'm in one of those late 90s, early 00s cartoons that I grew up with and formed a foundational part of my childhood. (Plus, where else can I play as a half-demon and join a book club with Blade, Captain Marvel, Steve Rodgers, and Wolverine?)

This Week: Dead Boy Detectives is Highly Entertaining

What is everyone watching this week?

I'm rotating through a bunch of rewatches, and hoping Star Trek: Discovery is going to end well. I have three more episodes of 3 Body Problem to review, and feeling guilty for procrastinating since it just got the renewal I've been waiting for.

This Week: OMG Michael Emerson is in Fallout

What are you all watching this week? Josie starts us off this time.

Josie Kafka: So, work's got me frustrated and horribly busy. I decided to spend a few hours ignoring work today to reclaim my sanity. I got some exciting things done, like watering my plants and putting WD-40 on my door hinges.

This Week: Important Viewing News

Mikey Heinrich: The third season of Is It Cake? has dropped on Netflix.

This is crucial information for us all.
