This year we were all kind of stuck in a limbo – yay, things will go back to normal, oh wait, no they won't – and most of what I watched or read was not from 2021. That wasn't deliberate, though, it just happened, and in many ways it was a return to simpler times.

Juliette's Best of 2021
by

Another Plague Year draws to a close. Another year featuring severely disrupted cinema viewing but probably quite a lot of TV. Another weird year. But if they're all weird now, I guess that makes weird normal. However, I absolutely refuse to use the phrase "the new normal" because it's awful.

I am not the first to note that 2021 was an odd year. It never became as bad as we feared, and it never became as good as we hoped.

2021 was complete insanity in a lot of ways, and the stuff I've seen this year has been little exception. Ranging wildly in form, content, and style, so much of it was so compelling, though, that a lot of decisions I had to make for this 'Best of' were very difficult.
An Honest Fangirl's Best of 2021
This year was, like for many people, a little strange for me. I kind of slept through the entire first half of the year, something that I dearly wish was more of an exaggeration, so my content consumption was rather limited to this back half. That being said, I still had my favorites. So, in no particular order, here's some of the movies and shows that I enjoyed this year!

2021 was a long year in which too many things happened too quickly. Occasionally, it would become overwhelming and I would have to lose myself in another world.
The silver lining in all this was that I was able to spend more time than I usually do on books, TV, plays, and movies. It was great to get back into the theaters, both live and cinema. There were quite a few things I enjoyed this year, some unexpected and some old favorites. But, there were some that stood out as the best of the year. The following are the ten things I will return to as 2021 morphs into 2022.

by
Mark Greig
For multiple reasons I really haven't watched a lot of TV this year, so instead of my usually irrelevant rundown I'm going to look back at the 21 most memorable comics (old and new) that I read this year.
