Daredevil Born Again: Season One
"I was raised to believe in grace. That we can be touched by the divine and transformed into a better person. So if you say to me that you're a new man, I say 'Fine.' But you should know, I was also raised to believe in retribution. So if you step out of line, I will be there."
It has been seven long years, but Daredevil is back! He has been born again.
Too cheesy? Yeah, I know. Writing these little intro blurbs is hard!

Mini Comic Reviews: March, 2025
by

This month I'll be taking a look at DC's most recent series of The Flash, Brubaker and Phillips' Fatale, Daredevil by Charles Soule, Aquaman: Andromeda, and Phoenix.
21 Comics I Read in '21
by
Mark Greig
For multiple reasons I really haven't watched a lot of TV this year, so instead of my usually irrelevant rundown I'm going to look back at the 21 most memorable comics (old and new) that I read this year.

Mark's Best of 2018
by
Mark Greig
It's not really accurate to call this a Best Of list. It's more a random collection of stuff I noticed while watching TV this year. But Mark's Random Collection of Stuff He Noticed While Watching TV This Year is a bit of a mouthful so I'm gonna just stick with Mark's Best of 2018.
Lamounier's 2017 In Review

Hello, Doux readers!
2017 was another year with many great TV shows and not enough time to watch them. Will the number keep growing endlessly? It's hard to keep up with all that's new (and all that's ongoing or classic, and also great), but I'm glad with the shows I ended up watching. Let's talk a little bit about them now, shall we?

"Wherever you run, I run with you."
I’m starting to worry that this is going to be one of those shows that repeatedly falls at the last hurdle.

"I'm already dead."
I'm going to go on the record and state that I've enjoyed this season more than the first one. The only thing that has really marred my enjoyment has been the lack of a credible villain. Fisk’s brief return only highlighted this problem.

"So, you continue your fight. But for how long, I wonder, and at what price?"
Frank and Matt are closing in on the Blacksmith. Meanwhile, Karen and Claire deal with the fallout from the men in their lives.

"Every minute you spend standing, hiding in this suit of armor, the more separate you become from the very things you want to protect."
Only three episodes left after this. If you can't take the heat, stay out of Hell's Kitchen.

"You may say you wanna be good for me, but that's not who you really are, is it?"
What happens to a King of Crime when he's in prison–and gets access to one of the best killers ever? Meanwhile, Matt rejects Elektra, investigates the Hand alone and seemingly abandons Nelson and Murdock.

"This war is bigger than you, or me, or any of our problems."
Although it was bookended by killer fight scenes, this episode was practically wall to wall exposition. Not that that's a bad thing when it's framed well and gives us a lot of backstory, as well as clues to what's coming up.

Daredevil: Semper Fidelis

"Right or wrong, you can't deny that it works."
I think the most pressing concern with this season is that, so far, there has been no clear villain. Is it Punisher? Is it Elektra? Reyes? The Yakuza? Semper Fidelis seems to resolve this problem.

“Is this about saving a man, or saving a vigilante?”
…in which Matt gets whimsical, Frank gets sadder, and Foggy keeps Foggying like a rockstar. Meanwhile, Karen gets it done!

"We need to be done with the crazy, guys. We need normal!"
The last episode I reviewed was a slow introduction to Frank Castle. Somehow I got the episode that acts as a slow introduction to Elektra Natchios. We've seen one personification of Matt Murdock's inner conflict this season. Now let's take a look at the other.

“I don’t know what you are. But I know you ain’t him.”
The first time I watched this episode, I didn’t care for it. I like it more now, but I’m not sure I love this season as much as I did the first one.

Punisher: "You know the one thing that you just can't see? You know you're one bad day away from being me."
This episode was an interesting study of the invisible line a hero must walk, with Daredevil and the Punisher as two sides of a very tarnished coin.

"They're calling this one The Punisher."
That's probably what they should have called this episode too.

“Hell’s Kitchen is gonna explode.”
After an awe-inspiring first season, Marvel’s Daredevil has a lot to live up to: Stupendous balletic fight scenes. Fascinating meditations on religion, morality, and correct action. A “wounded-bird” hero and his complicated sidekicks. Not to mention the Big Bad, Wilson Fisk. Can the second season premiere keep up the momentum?
