For eight seasons (2001-2010), 24 blew us away with its non-stop action and suspense in a real-time format, with each episode consisting of one hour, and a 24-episode season taking place in a single day. Kiefer Sutherland led the series as tough-as-nails counter terrorism agent Jack Bauer. The series was created and produced by the same team that gave us La Femme Nikita.

24 Live Another Day: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 a.m.

"At this point, I think I'm the only friend you have left."

24 Live Another Day: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

"If the U.S. goes to war with China, who do you think benefits?"

This was a bit of a hodgepodgy mess, which makes sense given the jumble of plots we have left to solve in this penultimate episode.

24: Live Another Day: 8:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Adrian: “The truth is always best.”
Chloe: “What truth? The truth when you decide to tell it?”

As we reached the beginning of the end of this season, we watched relationships implode and ships explode. We also got a few reminders of past seasons, which made me consider how television has changed since this show’s first season.

24 Live Another Day: 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

"Get in the car and let me do what I know how to do."

This was a non-stop action packed episode with a bunch of great classic 24 twists and turns. Starting with one that I truly didn't see coming.

24: Live Another Day: 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

“Face it, son. You and I are the only chance they have.”

So often when we watch a television show or a movie, we know that the danger in which the hero finds himself is a plot device. Before the end of the hour, something will happen that will thwart the bad guy and the good guy will win. 24 is not a show that has ever played by the rules.

24: Live Another Day: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

“I shouldn’t have done that. I just hate these people.”

When 24 was, in fact, twenty-four hours, there was always a subplot or two that felt like filler and, finally, didn’t have too much to add to the central story. Now that 24 is only twelve hours, I was hoping that these distractions from the main action would be kept to a minimum. So far, so good.

24 Live Another Day: 4:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.

"Jack wants her, Jack needs her, Jack gets her."

As the season progresses, I keep coming back to the same question; how much does Fox want 24 back on the air?

24 Live Another Day: 3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

"We've just given our enemy a moral victory."

This felt like a bit of a bridge episode, which could probably be said about most of the middle episodes in every 24 season.

24: Live Another Day: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

A normal episode of 24 cuts continually between three or four story lines, many of them not connected. Or rather, not connected yet. This episode defied that trope by concentrating on one. It worked.

24 Live Another Day: 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

That was fun. 24 is nearly always fun to watch. It moves so quickly, too. I looked up at the clock and it was almost over. (I meant my clock.)

I remember now why I watched all eight seasons of this show. It just doesn't stop, does it? It was like spending quality time with an old friend, only with tension.
