This Week: Zac Efron for No Particular Reason

An Honest Fangirl
: What have people been watching/playing/reading lately?

Heated Rivalry still has me in a chokehold, to the point where I'm going to watch Saturday Night Live this week because Connor Storrie is hosting. I think he'll be good at it, so hopefully they'll give him fun stuff to do.

Stranger Things: Season Four

Murray: Your children, bless their mischievous souls – they like to get involved. This way, what? They play too much Nintendo, eat too much junk food, smoke some ganja, pound some beers, experiment sexually. What's the worst that can happen?

Season four of Stranger Things has some good and some not so good. We get information that explains how much of this came to pass. Alas, we also get filler and some tired storylines.

Stranger Things: Season Five Discussion

We're covering the fifth and final season of Stranger Things with a discussion post. Five of the Agents of Doux participated.

And we're off! Please note that this discussion is chock full o' spoilers. If you haven't seen season five yet and you plan to, you might want to come back later.

Mark's Best of 2019

Seasons greetings, dear readers, and welcome to my annual rambling look back at what the wacky world of TV had to offer us in 2019.

Stranger Things: Season Three

Yeah, yeah, I'm late. I should have posted this review a month ago. But I have a good excuse, I promise.

(Beware! Spoilers below!)

Stranger Things: Season Two

Stranger Things keeps proving what seems the point of some contention among TV fans, namely: There are good child actors in America.

Billie's Best of 2016

Happy new year! It is a Doux Reviews tradition that I get to post my "best of" piece last. Did you know we've been doing these year-end posts since 2009? This is our eighth year at this. Eighth!

Mark's Best of 2016

Seasons greetings, faithful readers, and welcome to my look back at the best that the idiot box had to offer us in 2016.

Laure's 2016 in Review

The term 'an oldie but a goodie' might be on many a vision board if the trends in the big and small screens are any indication.

Mallena's Best of 2016

Actually, this article is subtitled: The best of TV-PG, more or less. My pug and I are not very comfortable with shows that have a lot of nudity and violence, so I've never seen Game of Thrones. My brother-in-law says that Westworld is really good, but I’ll just have to take his word for it. I also don’t go to the movies very often; I prefer to wait until I can watch at home…so without further ado; here are my best picks for my favorite pastime.

Stranger Things: Season One

I'm not much for horror. I don't like being scared out of my wits. I remember years ago daring myself to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street -- and get this for cowardice, on cable, and during the day -- but I almost couldn't bring myself to do it. Ditto Silence of the Lambs, which by the way, is a much scarier movie than A Nightmare on Elm Street.

This week, I finally got around to Stranger Things, an eight-episode series on Netflix, and I have to say, it's really not horror. It's full to the brim with horror tropes, but it's more like they're there for fun.

Stranger Things (2016-2025) is a unique 1980s horror nostalgia-fest featuring what are probably the best child actors in the business. It aired on Netflix.

We covered Stranger Things with season reviews. Billie Doux reviewed seasons one and three, Thomas Ijon Tichy season two, and Victoria Grossack season four. For the fifth and final season, the Agents of Doux did a lengthy and in depth "discussion" review.
