The 100: The Last War

“I bear it so they don’t have to. Again.”

The 100 was a series about not just surviving, but about how to achieve that survival and retain your humanity. ‘The Last War’ is an attempt to reckon with Clarke’s journey, and the things she’s done to keep those she loves alive. Though it doesn’t make much sense of this season’s struggles or Clarke’s actions, ‘The Last War’ does provide some semblance of closure to this seven season story; an achievement given how royally screwed up things were a few episodes back.

The 100: The Dying of the Light

"Faith doesn't just die. It gets carried forward."

Credit where credit is due, this was a great episode. Riveting, actually, this is the word that kept coming to my mind after I finished watching "The Dying of the Light." I don't remember the last time I watched an episode of The 100 and found it riveting. The final minutes were edge-of-your-seat good.

The 100: A Sort of Homecoming

Madi: "You decided for me. Again."
Clarke: "I decided for everyone. That's what I do."

This was a good episode harmed by previous poor writing decisions.

The 100: The Stranger

"I don't trust you. I do, however, trust the love you have for your friends."

That line, said by Cadogan to Clarke, is Clarke in a nutshell. Her allegiance shifts in a heartbeat if that's what it takes to protect and save those she's chosen as her family. You want to be on the lady's right side. Now we are watching Clarke search a way out of war and do all that is possible to take her loved ones out of danger for the last time. Will she get it done? More importantly, can she get through to Bellamy and save him from himself?

The 100: Blood Giant

"Don't make me do this."

I haven’t been this annoyed since the final season of Game of Thrones.

The 100: Etherea

"Have some faith."

Really?

The 100: A Little Sacrifice

"If you're looking for the wrong answer, it's easy to miss the right one."

Ever since Monty left his final message to his friends, The 100 has frequently gone back to the question of whether its main group of characters is able to deviate from war and do better. Now that the endgame is approaching, war looks inevitable, but what the remainder of the human race needs might be something else altogether.

The 100: The Flock

Our mid-season finale certainly gave us a lot of information, and set up our four major bad-asses as turncoats. So why do I feel like this entire episode was an exercise in futility?

Backdoor pilot. Or perhaps more accurately, backportal pilot.

The 100: The Queen's Gambit

"We're not prisoners. We're recruits."

An episode defined by relationships, with a lot of good emotions. Although not much actually happened.

The 100: Nakara

"Have I mentioned that I don't like it here?"

Clarke and Raven face off with the Stomach of Doom.

The 100: Welcome to Bardo

The entire season so far as been designed to establish the characters and the mystery of the Anomaly. While there are some major answers left, we do have a fairly good idea of what the hell happened to Octavia, Diyoza and her daughter Hope and finally we have a hint of what happened to Bellamy.

The 100: Hesperides

I liked this one. It was effective, and helped earlier episodes make more sense.

The 100: False Gods

“We keep ending up in the same place, and every time, people die.”

At this point in the game, The 100 has tried and tested what feels like a thousand different variations on warring factions with starkly opposing views. What makes this type of recycled story still work is the fact that the writers manage to inject these trials with humanity and nuance, irrespective of the group each character might be part of.

This season premiere began right where season six left off, and it was very The 100: difficult decisions being made by young people in a place with no laws.

The 100: The Blood of Sanctum

"Tell me it was worth it."

I'm dying to know what got left on the cutting room floor. The episode felt like there was enough story for at least another hour.

The 100: Adjustment Protocol

"A mind drive is a terrible thing to waste."

Finales and cliffhangers and desperate situations are all things The 100 knocks out of the park. We aren't being disappointed and there seems to be an unlimited supply.

The 100: Ashes to Ashes

"Hesitation is death."

Clarke and Bellamy in this photo are all of hoping against hope that our fragile little hearts survive whatever torture The 100 has in store in the finale. Help.
