... in which the team races against the clock to save the Warehouse.

When last we left our intrepid heroes, they had defeated Big Bad Walter Sykes, but the price of victory was exceedingly high, including the loss of Jinks, H.G. Wells, Mrs. Frederic, and the Warehouse. Myka, Pete, and Artie were left standing with only their lives and a mysterious pocket watch, which was clearly the key to reversing the destruction wrought by Sykes.

Newsflash: Haven Renewed and Other Stories

Last week was all about cancellations (so long, The Playboy Club, Free Agents, How to be a Gentleman, we hardly cared to know you). This week seems to be all about renewals and pick ups. And for shows we give a damn about, too.

--Despite earlier rumours that the series was facing cancellation, Syfy have renewed Haven for a 13-episode third season. The network also announced that Christmas Specials for Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Haven will air 6th December, the fourth season of Merlin will start 6th January and the second season of Being Human and the first season of my favourite guilty pleasure, Lost Girl, will both start 16th January.

--The CW has picked up Ringer, Hart of Dixie and The Secret Circle for full seasons.

--The BBC have renewed Case Histories for a second season. Based on the books by Kate Atkinson, the series stars Jason Isaacs as Jackson Brodie, a former police officer now working as a private investigator in Edinburgh. The first season will start airing on PBS this Sunday. Watch it, it's great.

--Boardwalk Empire has also been renewed for a third season by HBO.

Warehouse 13: Stand

... in which Sykes set his final plans in motion.

Warehouse 13: Emily Lake

... in which the Warehouse crew attempts to stay one step ahead of Walter Sykes, while ferreting out his master plan.

Warehouse 13: Insatiable

... in which Pete and Myka attempt to identify the artifact causing apparent zombie attacks. Meanwhile, Claudia continues to struggle with Jinks’s firing.

Warehouse 13: Shadows

... in which Pete and his mother revisit painful memories to discover who’s been targeting the Regents, and Myka and Claudia investigate the disappearance of several people in a brilliant flash of light.

Warehouse 13: The 40th Floor

... in which the Warehouse crew attempts to thwart Agent Stukowski’s plans to destroy the Regents.

Warehouse 13: Past Imperfect

... in which Myka gets another chance to catch the man that killed her former partner.

Warehouse 13: Don't Hate the Player

... in which Claudia, Pete, and Myka attempt to save a friend from an artifact-induced gaming disaster, while Artie and Jinks assist Agent Sally on a “weird” case.

Warehouse 13: 3... 2... 1

... in which some familiar faces return to help solve a mystery spanning a century.

Renewal/Cancellation Newsflash

What a week, eh?

Seems like not a day has gone by this week without one show or another getting cancelled, renewed or both. That's probably because not a single day has gone by this week without one show or another getting cancelled, renewed or both.

We'll kick off with the good news before we get to the "Death to SyFy Network Executives" news.

Renewed

True Blood

Renewed for a 5th season. You'd have to be a hermit living on Pluto not to have seen this coming. I'm actually surprised it took them this long, considering that this is HBO's biggest show right now.

Warehouse 13

Renewed for a 4th season of 13 episodes due in 2012. This was another no brainer. Warehouse 13 is still SyFy's highest rated show. With any luck, the announcement about the HG/Ianto spin-off will not be long of now.

Cancelled

Eureka.

This has certainly been a frustrating for Eureka fans. First there was talk that SyFy was planning to renew the series for final season of six episodes. But then in a u-turn David Cameron would be proud of, SyFy suddenly scrapped those plans and announced that the 13-episode 5th season, currently in production, would be the series' last. Then, in a no doubt futile gesture to calm enraged fans, an additional episode was ordered to serve as the series finale.

Another case of SyFy showing that it is incapable of renewing any show for more than five seasons.

Spooks/MI-5.

After running out of regular characters to kill off, the spy thriller's upcoming tenth season will be its last. The decision to end the series after 10 years was made by production company, Kudos, and not the BBC, despite what The Sun might want people to think.

Renewed and Cancelled

In Plain Sight

USA have renewed the series about U.S. Marshals that isn't Justified for a fifth and final season due next year. Season five will consist of 8 episodes instead of the usual 13.

Warehouse 13: Queen for a Day

... in which Pete and Myka try to prevent a wayward Warehouse 2 artifact from destroying the wedding of Pete’s ex-wife. Meanwhile, Claudia and Jinks attempt to recover Ulysses S. Grant’s flask at a Civil War re-enactment.

Warehouse 13: Love Sick

... in which Artie and Claudia investigate a potential artifact-related outbreak, while Pete and Myka get to play out their own version of The Hangover.
