The 67th Emmy Awards aired tonight. Historically, this show is the weakest of the award shows during which there are few surprises.

Summer television was once a wasteland, and not that long ago. I was just perusing our keyword label 'Summer Television Wasteland' (which was a fun blast from the past, by the way, with 16 posts going back to 2006), and I was reminded that we used to spend the summer here on Doux Reviews interviewing each other and doing retro reviews of our favorite old shows. Now there's so much new stuff on TV that it's a challenge to keep up.

Sunday Discussion: What shows are you most looking forward to this fall?

Four seasons. Not enough.

When I started posting these Sunday discussion topics a few weeks ago, the first question I wanted to ask was, "What shows are you guys looking forward to this fall?" And then every other TV site on the internet posted the same question that very week, and I thought, do I want to look like I'm imitating all the other TV web sites? So I went with another question.

And then this morning I thought, so what? I'm posting it anyway. What shows are you most looking forward to this fall?

Comic Con 2015

Sunbunny and I attended San Diego Comic Con last year and had such a great time we decided to do it again this year. And this time we had four day badges to play around with.

Fall 2015 Premiere Dates

Shakespeare had it right: fall is the time in which we love yet know we must lose. This year's Fall Premiere schedule contains quite a few expected goodies--I'm lookin' at you, The Good Wife--and more than a few empty places, as old favorites like Person of Interest are held until the midseason.

Critics' Choice Television Awards 2015: Nominees

Today, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced their nominees for the 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards. For once, I was pleasantly surprised by some of the nominations. Shows that sometimes get overlooked by other award givers were nominated in important categories.

To keep us going between movie award season and television award season, MTV handed out its Movie Awards last night.

Here we go! After nearly two months of warm-up award shows, we have made it to the big one. Tonight was the Academy Awards. sunbunny and I (ChrisB) were there (via our televisions) for the red carpet and the ceremony. Here are our impressions of the night.

Independent Spirit Awards and Razzie Awards 2015

'Twas the night before the Oscars and, all through the land, awards were being handed out. One ceremony celebrated the best of cinema, the other the worst.

Writers Guild Awards 2015

The fourth and final Guild handed out awards to each other last night. It was the turn of the writers to celebrate their achievements in the past year. Some well deserved wins.

Directors Guild Awards 2015

The Guilds continue to hand out their awards to each other. Last night, it was the turn of the Directors.

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015

The Guild awards keep coming. Tonight, it was the turn of the Screen Actors. Exactly as the producers did last night and the directors and writers will do in the weeks to come, the actors awarded themselves. Showing a severe lack of imagination, the award is called "The Actor."

Producers Guild Awards 2015

Awards season continues apace as the various Guilds hand out awards to each other. Tonight, the Producers kicked off the guilds by awarding prizes to producers of both cinema and television. What is most interesting about tonight is that the award for best picture is different from the Golden Globe winner. No clear Oscar winner yet.

Critics' Choice Movie Awards 2015

Historically, the Broadcast Film Critics Association hands out its annual awards the evening the Academy announces its Oscar nominees. These awards are given by those whose job it is to review films and let us know which to see and which to not. Although the ceremony was televised this year, I missed it. Ironically, because I was at the movies. Here are this year's winners:

The Academy Awards 2015: Nominees

This morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their nominations for the Oscars. I got up in time to see the live stream which was, finally, underwhelming except for watching these poor people struggle with the names at the crack of dawn.

The Golden Globe Awards 2015

For the past several years, the Golden Globes has won the award for Best Award Show simply because it was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I don't expect this year to be any different.
