JRS' Year in Review: Year of the Binge
by
JRS
2016 was a turbulent year that left many of us gasping. For me, the ups and downs meant I often sought relaxation in fiction. It became a year of series - whether it was bingereading or bingewatching, I mainlined fiction like Eddie Dean made love to heroin. So starting with books, then television, then comics, I'm going to review 2016 through a series lens. Note that while several of these are recently published or distributed, not all of them are; some are reviews of things which have only recently come on my radar.
J.D. Balthazar's Worst and Best of 2016
Let's face it, 2016 sucks, it's a rotten year, with a lot of bad mojo surrounding pretty much everything.

The term 'an oldie but a goodie' might be on many a vision board if the trends in the big and small screens are any indication.
Juliette's 2016 Year in Review

This year, I am taking the bold step of making up my own categories for my Year In Review. This inevitably means they may be quite boring categories!
I keep detailed records of all the films I see at the cinema, but not of all the TV shows I watch, so there may be a tendency for more detail in the Film categories. I've also watched surprisingly little TV this year, comparatively speaking, but hey ho, quality over quantity!
Mallena's Best of 2016

Actually, this article is subtitled: The best of TV-PG, more or less. My pug and I are not very comfortable with shows that have a lot of nudity and violence, so I've never seen Game of Thrones. My brother-in-law says that Westworld is really good, but I’ll just have to take his word for it. I also don’t go to the movies very often; I prefer to wait until I can watch at home…so without further ado; here are my best picks for my favorite pastime.
