Lost (2004-2010) is number 5 in the Doux Top Twenty hitting shows.
A plane crashes on a very unusual island. No one comes to rescue the survivors. Their lives turn out to be oddly intertwined. Bizarre and supernatural things keep happening, like a smoke monster, like a polar bear, like six numbers that are supposed to mean something. There are flashbacks, flashforwards, flashsideways. Fans of the show obsessed about every clue. Fans like me.

This Week: Namaste, Billie!

Billie Doux
Greetings, readers! What are you watching this week?
After years of avoiding the show that meant so much to me, the show that got me writing hundreds of pages of analysis only to leave me frustrated in the end, I am finally rewatching...

This Week: Lost Schisms, or Christopher Meloni's Mmm Hmm
by
Billie Doux
Last week's discussion was indeed fun, so let's try it again. Here's what the Agents of Doux are watching this week.
Billie Doux: I just finished all four seasons of Ozark quickly... except the final seven episodes, which will arrive on Netflix at the end of April. Shows about organized crime tend to be all about guys, and I've realized that one reason why I find Ozark so compelling is...

My Top 16 Lost Episodes on Lost's 16th Anniversary

Mara Fabella

Sixteen years ago, a pilot episode of a new show premiered on ABC about a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island. Audiences were transfixed, the show became a blockbuster hit, and the landscape of TV was changed forever.
Five (And More) TV Characters Who Were Meant to Die
by
Mark Greig
Death comes for us all eventually. Unless you're a new character on a popular TV show and the producers take a shine to you and decide to keep you around, in which case Death is told to get lost and only come back when the actor asks for a pay bump or time off so they can make some movies.

*As in those characters who died either before or at the very beginning of a series, but continued to be a major presence throughout its run.

Five Shows that Were a Bear to Review
by
Billie Doux
It's safe to say that I've written a whole lot of reviews. Thousands, even, and that's just Supernatural... no, I'm kidding, but it really does number in the thousands.

Please excuse this interruption to our regularly scheduled science fiction and fantasy show coverage, but I feel compelled to report the geekfest that just happened on the second season premiere of Hawaii Five-O.Holiday Gift Guide: Lost

NewsFlash: Locke and Linus, Together Again?
by
Josie Kafka

If it's a hoax, it's the best hoax ever: New York magazine and now Michael Ausiello are reporting that Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson may be part of a new show. Together. Playing "black ops agents." New York mag claims that plans for the JJ Abrams-produced show (possibly called Odd Jobs) are "very real and very active." I'll nominate Jorge Garcia for their wacky sidekick, as soon as I'm done dancing the dance of joy.
NewsFlash: Lost Auction
by
Billie Doux

There will be an auction of Lost series props in Santa Monica, California, August 21 and 22. (See Profiles in History. Photo credits are also to Profiles in History.)
I spent six years writing about Lost, and this auction is going to take place about a ten minute drive from my apartment. I'm not going. And not just because a ticket costs $65.
Lost: The End - Musings from a Non-Lostie
Unlike many of you on this site - writers and readers - I'm not a rabid Lost fan. I know, hard to believe those exist, right? I followed it obsessively the first season, pulled my hair out during the second, and then decided that the only way to enjoy it for what it is was to wait until each season was over, and watch the episodes all in a row. I never had theories on what the Island was, didn't get any of the number stuff unless people pointed it out to me, and had no clue what an Easter egg was - much less, tried to interpret from it. As I often say in my Glee reviews, I don't want to think when I watch TV, I just want to enjoy it.Lost: The End --- Jess says ...

Note: Given that Lost is a show that invites multiple interpretations, Billie asked her guest writers if we’d like to provide our own perspectives on the recent finale and/or the series as a whole. I’ve put together some thoughts based largely on comments I posted on Billie’s Lost discussion group. If you read both, sorry for the repetition!Lost: The End

Jack: "I'm fine. Just find me some thread, and I can count to five."
I was deeply moved; I cried and cried. Emotionally, it was an incredibly satisfying finale. But intellectually, I feel cheated, and mildly disappointed.
