Revolution: The Dark Tower

"There's been a change in management."

This episode began in a very Supernatural way, with a catchy song and a "road so far" sequence of clips. But it was no "Carry On Wayward Son." And Revolution is no Supernatural. Not yet, anyway.

Revolution: Children of Men

Aaron: "It's Area 51 stuff. I saw it on Mythbusters."

Revolution: Clue

"So what do you say? Road trip?"

I'm pleased to report that I enjoyed this episode. Revolution is having a pretty good back nine. I particularly enjoyed the mystery aspect, which is where the episode title came from. I assume.

Revolution: The Longest Day

"What makes you think I'm in it to help people?"

This was very much a relationship episode.

Revolution: The Love Boat

"So we kidnap people now? That's what we do?"

Radicalized insurgents, weaponized anthax, kidnapping scientists in laundry baskets -- oh, what a wicked web they're weaving.

Revolution: Home

"Lock everyone in the basement. Burn it all down."

This episode's theme was probably that the past will never stop coming back to bite you in the ass, although that's something that Miles has been experiencing pretty much non-stop since the start of the series.

Revolution: The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia

"Your mom told me to take care of you so I figured I'd drag you in front of a nuclear weapon. Pack your crap."

One of the best compliments I can give Revolution is that I'm starting to get tremendously excited for new episodes every week. The show just keeps improving.

Revolution: The Song Remains The Same

"No one's a good guy."

Ever since Revolution returned from its four month hiatus, I've been consistently amazed by how impressively the show has reshuffled its status quo. After all, that's what makes a serialized story so exciting and gripping.

Revolution: Ghosts

"Most people don't have the power to hand you a continent."

Who else feels like they just watched an episode of Lost? The revelatory flashbacks, the sudden last minute reveals with the screeching musical score - of course it helps that Lost's very own Juliette is the one dropping the bombshells!

Revolution: The Stand

"We have light, we have power, we have everything. It's time to let everyone know it. "

I think Revolution just turned into a great show.

Revolution: Nobody's Fault But Mine

Monroe: "See, it's like Miles always said. A good hostage works every time."

And yet more hostage-taking of family members, which is apparently Revolution's most enduring theme du series. It was Miles's turn this time; he went right to the Neville residence and put a sword to Julia's throat. (Good sword work by Billy Burke. He kept slashing it around and changing the angle, but he did it convincingly. I kept thinking he would actually hurt Julia with that thing, which I'm sure is what they were going for.)

Revolution: Kashmir

"You look like hell warmed over. And not just because you're suffocating."

This show has such a great premise, but it tends to bring out the nitpickers. And I totally get it, because this episode brought out the nitpicker in me. While a lot of it was pretty cool and featured some much-needed character development, there were plot elements that drove me nuts.

Revolution: Ties That Bind

Miles: "What do you think will happen when Monroe figures out that necklace?"
Aaron: "I don't know. He'll turn the lights on and buy the world a Coke?"

Another fairly good episode, even though I kept thinking of other shows and movies while I was watching it.

Revolution: The Children's Crusade

Aaron: "Awesome. Like a pack of hairless Ewoks."

Ah, the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome kid tribe episode. I hate kid tribe episodes. I could almost literally feel myself losing patience during the opening scenes. But surprisingly, the episode turned out to be pretty good. Is Revolution slowly improving, or is it just me?

Revolution: Sex and Drugs

"You're right. The world's not a bunch of pretty postcards."

With a title like "Sex and Drugs," it's gotta be good. And actually, this was a pretty decent episode.

Revolution: Soul Train

Neville: "You gotta toughen up, son."

I'm getting Lost vibes. This was a Neville-centric episode, complete with flashbacks to show how he became the vicious prick that he is right now.

Revolution: The Plague Dogs

"Everybody leaves me."

Definitely a mother love theme going on in this one. After the Blackout, Maggie practically moved heaven and earth to return to her children, and couldn't. Rachel left her children to give herself up to the Militia, and Miles. (We don't know why, but I think they were hinting that it was to keep her family safe.)

Revolution: No Quarter

Jeremy: "This is so dramatic. You guys remember One Life to Live?"

Revolution is getting a full season. I guess the ratings must be adequate, huh?

Revolution: Chained Heat

Miles: "It's, like, one day into this trip and you're already a pain in the ass."

I have to agree with Miles. Charlie was indeed a huge pain in the ass.
