Deep Space Nine (1993–1999) is set on a space station near the Bajoran homeworld in the Roddenberry Trek Universe. It's notable for being arguably the most controversial of all the shows in the Trek franchise. Racial, religious, and social themes pervade each episode. Created by Rick Berman and Michael Piller, the show explored the darker side of the future, and was the first Trek spin-off produced without direct involvement from Roddenberry.

My DS9 reviews are produced for Doux Reviews 21 years after the show has aired. I never had the opportunity to watch DS9 during the initial round; now, I find the show interesting, relevant, and the perfect fill-in for the summer hiatus.
